  1. People who aren't interested in the sport or know nothing about it will be blown away by a simple 1ft pedal kick. We aren't really in the position to judge what moves make trials look good because we are trials riders. FYI I didn't like the 2nd video either. But out of 8 or 10 contestants in the semi-finals he came 4th. It shows that normal people actually appreciate such a show despite what we might think of it. As for choreographed demo riding, there was a very good show on one of these programs in France featuring two pro riders. I'm sure you've seen it, in my opinion it was one of the best trials shows ever.
  2. We had a similar story over here, a trials rider got right up to the semi finals and dropped out. None the less he had a massive impact on how trials is perceived by the general public: 1 2 To be honest, trials just isn't tv material.
  3. I'm kinda with Russevelt on this one. You're a very good rider and you could have done a lot better on that bike (which is what I expected, hence the slight disappointment). Now go out and make another one featuring taps and the odd gap. They are possible on these bikes.
  4. That's actually very clever. Still if you want to buy the original blocks, they're money well spent.
  5. Fair points. I was just wondering about how he hasn't posted on here since march and that he'd got an R8 some time ago. You can't earn that much on a trials shop unless it's Tarty size.
  6. I want to have a floating cow dream. NOW! I've had the falling dream tens of times in my life. When I was small my parents told me that when you have a dream like that it means that you've just grown. But after thinking about it now I realize that they were making it up. edit: anyone had a running dream? As in running in a low gravity world really really fast?
  7. 70 degree head tube and 400mm chain stays must be awesome to ride. In fact it puts all the other trials manufacturers to shame, how could they not have thought of such a combination.
  8. How likely is it that this has anything to do with Dan? For an outsider like me this is not as obvious.
  9. Very interesting geometry. Looks good too.
  10. Much of them aren't or haven't been up until now as you say.
  11. Been trying to find this for months now:
  12. Mark, even if the materials cost 4x more than the ones to make a Zhi or Echo frame for instance... well, you know. Koxx spends a lot on publicity, events and R&D. As far as I know (could be wrong) they don't have their own factory. All of it including frames is outsourced which is why you can buy Try-All parts with Rockman written on them. Therefore their supply chain is a lot longer than with other manufacturers, Echo's probably being the shortest of them all for frames, forks and a few other parts. Basically the shorter the chain, the lower the costs. All this accounts for vast expenses which need to be paid for in one way or another. Plus, much of their activity is located in Europe which isn't the cheapest place either.
  13. If I understood that right then: Liking the frame a lot. It's nice to see your frame come to life, Gazza sent me some build pics from when I ordered a Triton, it made the wait and first ride all the more special!
  14. I'd go with a Lite purely because I know for a fact that it rides brilliantly. Short of course.
  15. Seriously though, what was the point of this post? As for the forks, Trialtech are probably the best you can get.
  16. Had 2 very odd lucid dreams tonight. First was that I got back with an ex I haven't seen for 4 years now. No need to go into any detail here. Second was trials related, I got a phone bill for 71,500 PLN (around 14,000 quid) and after some research found that I got a few hundred fines for riding trials which had been paid by my operator (?). These fines came from a departament which specialized in hunting down trials riders and included all the violations from 2008 to 2009. I figured out the way this works in my sleep, basically it turned out that all the pedestrians who stopped to take a picture of me when I was riding were actually reporting me to this trials hunting depeartament for damaging property. With every fine a wide description of the act was provided (with the possibility of receiving a picture of the crime) and of course the value of the fine. Some were 200+. I also got numerous fines for using copyrighted music in all my vids, using illegal software for video editing etc. It was awful. I woke up shortly after getting all depressed trying to figure out where to get the money from to pay all these fines and that from now on my life will be a wreck. Usually if I don't like a dream I can wake up, this just went on and on. edit: Manual dreams aren't a curse, they're a blessing! Love them.
  17. To get more height you should change the timing and pedal-kick a bit later into the move. I learned this technique from Tra's August 18 vid on the XTP. It's got some pretty damn good shots of him doing this, better than in other vids.
  18. His style is just the best ever. No other rider in the world uses so much body language and does such unique moves. Wish he'd make more vids
  19. Pretty much sums up my views exactly.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw_sm1uYZUA Hahahaha this is awesome!
  21. That's what I'd like to do. Is the programming text-based or does it have a GUI?
