  1. Could rim tape be causing this?
  2. I got a 2nd hand RQ from a mate, it's pretty much new but I've got an odd problem. I can't get it to run true. It's bouncing up and down and sideways. I've tried the soap trick, high pressure, low pressure, bouncing, pulling/pushing the tyre into the rim and nothing seems to help. It's pretty bad, it keeps rubbing against the chainstay yoke. Any other ideas? Or is it safe to say that the German who made my tyre was drunk that day?
  3. Learn to do it with a brake first. Doing it brakeless is pretty difficult (unless you're doing it on a sloped wall, in which case it's easier).
  4. Set the wheel up with the tugs Tighten the wheel Loosen the tugs slightly That's it.
  5. It has a seat tube, it's just not visible. Seriously.
  6. I don't want to be "that guy" so I'll say it straight away - I was taking the piss a bit. Anti lag is used in rally cars and damages the engine, exhaust and turbo. Doing it to a diesel might not even be possible, I don't know. You can chip tune a diesel engine but it is normal for the older ones to have turbo lag. If you want to get rid of it, you'll be better off with changing the car to one with a more modern engine. Otherwise there's not much you can do other than change your driving style.
  7. You need anti lag. It's where the valve timing is retarded so the combustion takes place partly in the exhaust manifold due to fuel dumping. That spools up the turbo and will reduce lag. It's common practice with diesel engines.
  8. Change the cog to a TR one. I wasn't aware of this problem but that's what's causing it.
  9. I absolutely adore your videos. The quality, the surroundings, riding, editing, music, the bikes. Seriously beautiful stuff. Shame it took over 1,5 hours to stream.
  10. This vid is made of win. If only I had such guys to ride with..
  11. Wow, that's rather disgusting, even if it was apple juice.
  12. Yeah, he was an absolute monster on 26", a lot worse on a mod though.

    ...

You know that's physically not possible, don't you?
  14. I just think it's about time 24" bikes started being treated like normal bikes, not something you use for a specific purpose. This "purpose" is some kind of preconcieved notion which has little bearing on reality. It's all getting a bit ridiculous - 20" is for bunnyhops, 24" for spins and 26" for taps. You see somebody doing the wrong moves on the wrong bike and instantly the answer is "get a (insert wheel size / BMX here)".
  15. Sorry but I'm going to persevere. What wheel size would come as an advantage to his riding? 26"? Or maybe 20"? This 24" thing is getting beyond ridiculous, just like the people who are behind this whole stree-trials scene. It's socially correct to ride a mod or stock, but you can only ride a 24" "if it gives you an advantage"? f**king hell, it's just 2 inches!!
  16. I'm bound to have it somewhere, you're talking about Echo Video 1. It was pretty long, ended with a short history of Echo in English and Chinese. I've been looking for the song they used at the end of the vid for around 10 years now. Have a look on eengoblabla (you know the site) . If it's not there, PM me. There you go: http://www.eengoedidee.nl/videoz/download.cgi?mem_id=67825&fil_unique=Q3jRetTM228AAATFSzE
  17. How do you make advantage of 24" wheels? By spinning more? I can't see 20" bikes being ridden differently to 26". A few years back when there was no 24" people rode street trials on a normal stock bike. But now there's this obsession with having to use a 24" the "right way". This isn't aimed at Davetrials, he's blatantly taking the piss too. As for the video it was great, grew up watching vids of Lee.
  18. Discs on mod bikes make sense. They're really difficult to hit unless you're riding natural most of the time in which case they might get caught up inbetween the rocks. I had one on a Python, Gu and a Monty 221Ti and it was great. Lots of hold on a 180mm disc, way more than a Maggie rim brake. There wasn't as much bite though and the lever didn't have as much a positive feel as a HS33.
  19. There's nothing wrong with Maguras, so why buy Echos? Echo brakes seem to be ok now but I still wouldn't trust them on my bike.
  20. Haha yeah that is odd. It's alright over here but NMC is in a league of it's own when it comes to people who don't know their first language.
  21. They might be available in other countries but all dealers encounter a similar problem with that brand and some have probably just given up. Zhi is very big in China with export not being that important for them.
  22. Why do you ride a bike?
  23. Any info on your build? I'm looking at something like this with minor changes like for instance wider bars (680mm?)
  24. I might just take you up on that. I'm strangely aroused by your liking in Marmite right now.
  25. Greetings

Well if that's true than the head angle could have spoiled it. There's a massive difference between 71 and 72.
