Will try that out. Good translation by the way but it wasn't necessary That's what I've been doing so far, unfortunately the grease doesn't last long and causes dirt to accumulate behind the backings. Might have to try a different kind of grease though I remember Tart writing that the silicone stuff is the best for this purpose. How about graphite?

Is there anything I can do to stop the slave piston from seizing? Due to the dry weather and dust accumulating near the seals, the piston just doesn't come back when you release the lever. It helps when you lube it with silicone grease but it only lasts about 6 hours of riding, then you have to do it again The brake is running on water which is probably the cause of this problem. Any ideas?

That was fun to watch There are also some other guys "supporting" the shirtless twat but when he received a beating, they just walk away

Nice vid there, the sections didn't seem too difficult but the warmup was great. Really neat and stylish riding. Is it Bash who made this vid? If not, do you know what camera was used?

Out of the ones I've used on the rear, from best to worst. 1. IRC El Gato - super light and pinch resistant, good grip and bounce, best tyre ever if you're a fairly smooth rider 2. Try-All sticky - super heavy, not much pinch resistance, immense grip and good bounce 3. Maxxis Hansventure - as above, just lighter and less grip and bounce 4. Maxxis Minion DH - hated it, don't know why 5. Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.4" - superlight and good bounce, grip isn't impressive. Absolutely no pinch resistance. Only used a 2.1" Nobby Nic on the front and it's not bad as long as you run a high pressure (snakebites are common )

I'm sure you know best what you're talking about Steve, but surely CNC'd brake pads won't be any better than forged or cast ones. After all, even plastic is good enough for brake pads, you don't need anything super strong for that purpose. I value the quality of my Coustsinks and will never change them to any other pads but this whole "argument" started when somebody stated that CNC isn't necessarily better for brake pads?

Tensile freewheels were imported from biketrialstation by the VIZ and Aorta distributor. There have been many sold in Poland. I'm also talking about facts but sorry, couldn't be arsed to give any solid evidence as it would take me quite a while to contact these people. Even then, you'd probably say I've made up their opinions - and all that just to prove you wrong? Finally, if you really think I posted true information about some freewheels braking down just to reduce your sales in the uk or even this end, you're completely wrong. Why would I do that? A question was asked so I answered it. Do you mean to say the only correct answer to this question is "get a Tensile"? Get a life man... edit: post edited, was apparently a bit harsh.
-
Get the Monty. I've sold over 65 of them over here and there hasn't been a single complaint yet (some have been used for 8+ months). On the other hand, I know people who have had severe problems with Tensile and Try-All freewheels. I know some of you Tensile lovers will disagree, they're damn fine freewheels but that's what I've heard my customers tell me and those are the facts my opinion is based upon. edit: one last thing, never buy used freewheels unless it's an ENO... oh and 221Ti hubs are 106mm, not 110 like the deng ones.

My Rather Sexual Echo Lite! I've Gone All Disced Out Back!
Greetings replied to Muel's topic in Bike Pictures
Oh my, that is rather nice Green brake and rim tape spoil it a bit, that and a rear Try-All tyre would make it look perfect. -
Awww, too late My vote goes to Dan Brisa.
-
Please shove him back into nmc... Anyway, you do realize that CNC backings are made of metal, and that "CNC" doesn't actually mean it's better?
-
You can get some at aspireveloech but they're for a 4mm allen key. I haven't had much experience with titanium bolts, but all i remember is the even 5mm heads round off very quickly. 4mm would be instant death. Light bikes ***! But surely it'd be even lighter if you just threaded the axle and used aluminum bolts? That's what I've done with a front Hope hub and it's great.

Thanks a lot for that, what a pity Did a TRA a few weeks ago, makes the bike impossible to ride
-
yeah they have a bashguard mount
-
That's what i'm hoping for, he was reading this topic a second ago

Just wondering really, can I get a 26" wheel into the 221Ti forks? They're fairly long for a mod fork so it might just be possible. I need something fairly short, very light and inexpensive for my new bike and these forks would be perfect if the wheel fit in nicely. Oh and Tart, get your PM's sorted

Blimey! That's one of the nicest bikes ever The 04 Python has always been my dream frame..
-
That's very strange, never knew Profile used other bearings than sealed cartridge ones?
-
Has that skewer got a 4mm or 5mm allen key socket? Also how much does it weigh, where did you get it from and for how much?

Got to agree with that statement. I don't call it work because I just do it in my spare time, but I've been dealing in Monty components for a while now and the only thing that is stopping me from going any bigger (as in stocking different manufacturers) is the customers. Roughly twice a day a conversation with a customer ends up with me having to walk around the house a few times to calm down - not because of an argument, but the sheer stupidity of some people and the fact one has to control oneself and answer every question politely. Talking about something much worse than NMC here, in fact if you threw the whole NMC into a blender and then boiled the mixture for the water to evaporate, that's what you'd face - a lump of annoying questions, lack of basic logic, grammar and spelling. I truly envy those who have enough self control (or large stocks of valium) to able to burst into laughter instead of having to smash something. I guess if you're running a shop with good mates, you can all have a laugh at the emails you receive.

Basically the levers and pistons weren't cleaned properly after being machined so many brakes have aluminum filings floating around in the brake fluid. Obviously if they get anywhere near the pistons, they'll scratch the bushings and seals causing the brake to leak. The new batch should be ok since they have now introduced some kind of quality control. Anyway, Deng admitted to his mistake so (at least over here) all the faulty brakes shall be replaced and I'm sure Tarty will replace yours as well - after all Deng is funding the replacement, not retailers.

Personally, I'd make sure it has a C2D processor, WiFi, IR, LAN and Firewire ports. I don't know about how much ram you can get for that price, but 2gb is a safe minimum if you want to run big apps on it. If you also play games, a graphics card which doesn't use shared memory would be good. edit: that's for a laptop of course... by a pc do you just mean the computer or the whole kit including a monitor, keyboard and mouse?
