  1. I actually found it exactly the opposite. Hope has way more modulation than the Avid and a lot less braking power. If you want a powerful brake, get a BB7. I'm sure if you search the forums you'll find many topics about these two brakes. Worth reading through them, they might contain some useful info.
  2. Word. The very few pretty girls I met over there turned out to be foreign (mostly french judging by the accent)
  3. Do you actually use the jump bikes? They all look brand new
  4. They're apparently snap happy but I've had mine for about 20 months now and they're still in great shape. Tapers are still super tight. Definitely going to stick to them in the future, even after my pair snaps. The only downside I can think of is that they're not exactly as stiff as say Adamant or Echo cnc cranks.
  5. I'm not sure about this, but i remember reading that SLI is more efficient than crossfire? In other words, if you had cards of identical performance, they would work better in SLI than the ATI equivalent.
  6. That's not the "final" model. Look through the bike pictures forum and you should find it
  7. If you want to use it on the front with a 8" rotor, you need a 203mm front adaptor or 180mm rear adaptor (they're the same size). So the one in the link will only fit the rear brake, or a front brake with a 220mm rotor
  8. The quality of Nicolai frames is unmatched. This one's my favorite: Would make for a good dual disc trials frame for those who sidehop to the left
  9. Consider traveling to Poland.

Thanks guys, I can do the front hop with a short backwards nose manual so I know what move you're talking about. Going out to practice them now, still no luck with getting the bike to roll backwards on the front wheel though
  11. Happy birthday FatPant! How about this be turned into a happy birthday thread?
  12. very nice vid, smooth and controlled riding, good music too

    Zhi Forks?

Let's wait for the Supertart to shed a little light on this matter. I'm pretty sure Koxx frames were made at Pulo in the past. I don't know where they're made now, after all Koxx frames have become way more complex than they were say 2 years ago.
  14. Dropgaps are for losers, you learned it the hard way Looked painful and the editing was good
  15. Wow, your signature is so not-annoying. edit: for some reason it's much smaller now, display issues i guess

    Zhi Forks?

Nope, Koxx were (and probably are) made by Pulo.
  17. I assume the new louise is post mounted? Pull the lever to lock the brake on the rotor, at the same time tighten the bolts which secure the caliper to the adapter. It's not the best way to set up a brake, but it's definitely the easiest.

Oh right, never seen the Atomz forks live, they look quite similar to Viz on your website though
  19. thought i've seen this before but yeah, damn good video! love your riding
  20. Well, not really, unless it turns you on. Looking at the practical side of it, what benefits does a fully CNC brake give over a normal one? Certainly not durability from what I've seen. I've got a Maggie with Coustsinks, my friend has a Dengura. Out of the two, my brake works far better, and I've only spent ~55 pounds on a new brake, brake pads and clamps. The Dengura is about 100, so not only do you get a better brake that won't start leaking after a week, but save enough to buy a BB7 or something. If deng wasn't so thick as to introduce these brakes and then say "well sorry but these brakes are full of aluminum leftovers in the system that scratch the pistons and cause the brake to leak" i'd probably justify getting one of these. But it's just another overpriced deng disaster like freewheels and freehubs.
  21. Imagine what we'd see if that guy was left footed.

Just bumping this in case somebody has anything else to add
  23. Haha i'd also like to know the answer to this serviced mine 2 weeks ago, and ever since it keeps falling off... One thing that will make it stay on for longer is to bend the metal clips on the outside of the knob with some pliers but that still doesn't solve the problem. I've got 2 balls inside the bearing Also, after I pulled it apart, the brake no longer "clicks" when you turn the outer pad knob. The knob also unscrews every now and then... edit: i don't know why, but i've re-assembled the brake using the manual, and now i can't take the dial off without using a screwdriver Maybe you should have a look at how you arranged those two spacers, maybe you put the funny one upside down? I think it keeps the dial on which is why the sharp edge should be facing downwards.
  24. Yeah got to agree with that. High-bb frames are very responsive. Out of the two mentioned above I find the Czar very sluggish due to the very long chainstays and short wheelbase. Would really like to have a go on a long Czar, seems it might be an awesome bike.
  25. Click According to them the front brake system is 220g. Sounds a bit too light to me though. With a Hope rotor that adds up to 320g for a full brake and I thought the lightest disc brakes in the world were like 300g?
