  1. That was brilliant. I love the way Platov rides, he's got a gash style but makes up for it in so many ways. A really unique rider.
  2. Greetings

    Nice Vid

Google link Enjoyed it a lot, hope you do as well
  3. girlfriend dunno if it's true but deng can apparently anodize parts by just looking at them and has a cnc machine in his pants
  4. After a rather close encounter with a mate on a comp recently (was jumping off a wall and he stopped right under it) I've been having disturbing thoughts about how it could happen again but with a kid or old man. Generally speaking while riding street, one is fairly conscious about what is happening around but there are lots of rushing pedestrians who won't bother to stop/think when you are doing a move. Lets say you do a large tap, don't quite make it to the top and abubaca off it. Right behind you a kid appears who didn't assume you would be jumping right back - or lets face it - didn't assume anything because he saw a colourful object and decided to run towards it. The consequences could be really drastic and at the end of the day it's your fault because you shouldn't have been doing what you were doing. Being a static sport, trials should be fairly safe but even a silly rear wheel pivot could knock somebody out if he was standing in the wrong place. I know this doesn't really happen that often, throughout the 6 years i've been riding i only hit another woman on a bike which cost me the replacement of her front wheel that wrapped around the forks like tinfoil - thankfully she was only bruised but at the time I was too young to think about the potential consequences of such an accident. This leads me to the following question - have you ever injured another person (not a rider) while riding, if so - how?
  5. I'm pretty sure Deng is in a few clips at the end of Echo Video 1? edit: he can't be that old, probably in his early/late 30s
  6. Mine can pack up after 1 day of using Vista
  7. Studying international logistics, don't really work but earn money on the side by dealing in Monty. Probably earning a hell of a lot more than I would if I got a job over here. Want to start up a business in the future, doing my uni course purely out of interest and doubt I'll be devoting my life to logistics. Might also go back to the UK after getting a masters degree. Are you Swedish or British?
  8. Very often ride alone. It can be boring but with a slight change of attitude you'll start enjoying it. Personally, when riding alone, I have more time to concentrate and do things i'm not quite sure of, experiment etc. The key to keeping yourself entertained is riding with good music. Well, depends if you're a music freak or not. If I had near my house the rocks you have, I'd just take my iPod, get to the rocks and ride them as far as possible. Maybe take a camera and tripod with you as it might make you push yourself more so you can make an interesting vid at home (not for publishing, just for yourself). Got endless vids of myself on single solo rides with the music i was listening to at the time and the date. It's a good watch a year or two later. Make a vid with the same moves 365 days later, use the same angles and the same music - now that's fun! meh, spelling
  9. Nope, it's definitely not english. Sounds a bit french but could be chinese as the vid is chinese. chorus sounds a bit like "ho hiya"
  10. I think that the pound (as a coin) is an amazing thing. It's so heavy and has so much body, you can literally feel it's value.
  11. Booo you didn't wear your pisspot Very nice vid though, natural is where it's at! Reminded me of TRA vids for some reason, maybe the rocks/sea/tripod combination. That bike is soo small!
  12. Ultra6 Pro, think that's what it's called. Apparently way stronger than Ultra6 but it probably won't happen for the next few years.
  13. Actually I hate my frame, and I got it because in this shit country you have to be pretty lucky to get anything - so it was either that or nothing. Also, I was refering to adamant bars, not frames. Sorry if it wasn't clear enough, perhaps I should use a larger font At a guess most people use Deng stuff because it's cheap, flashy and strong. Would never buy any of his stuff if it wasn't the cheapest available, rather have a Koxx.
  14. Haven't got time to go into detail buddy but as long as you've got a ~116mm spaced frame you'll be fine. Use two snail cams on the non drive side; on the drive side a chain tug mounted on the outside of the frame. This will give you an extra 6mm of space on the non-drive side. Also note that you have two different screw lengths. The silver one should go on the non-drive side because it's much longer. I ran this hub in a dual disc GU for a while and that kind of setup fixed all the problems. As you know it was a little bit awkward on the Monty mainly due to the 106mm dropout spacing. Can't wait to have a go on that bike Just change the brakes to rear right hand for July please
  15. Just watched Get3. Such a great video, pity that nowadays most riders are obsessed with drop gaps and sidehops and couldn't be arsed to ride properly and make good vids Are any of those people in that vid still riding? The big hairy fellow was great
  16. Haha I can imagine some of these high-sidehopping street riding kids going to a comp, doing an on/off sidehop and then asking the judge if they could get off their bike, walk up onto the obstacle and continue riding because they managed to get up. So to sum up, if somebody wants to impress you by saying "man, i've sidehopped 50" but then jumped off", it's your choice whether you find it impressive or not.
  17. Anyone know the mechanical advantage of the Mono Trial? If the pistons are 8mm and 2x22mm than that's giving a 1:15,12 ratio. The Louise has only 1:9,68. So no wonder the Mono Trial is spongy as fk.
  18. When will people understand that b&w AND overexposure is not cool!
  19. You'll have as many answers as there are ridable gear ratios - just try them out and see what you like. I've been riding 18:17 for quite a long time now, find it great.
  20. ~Meteor's Youtube username is perfect: "OMGNOSEAT"
  21. Rode a bike with Adamant bars and they were absolutely shit. Made the whole bike feel like shit, made me want to shit myself. In other words, Deng's produced a big pile of shit. edit: they're not the same as old Zoo bars.
  22. Welcome to the white rims club Lovely bike, the only thing I'd do is to get rid of the Monty stickers if it's possible without removing the lacquer.
  23. Since it'll probably take you a while to regain trust in such pads, maybe get some coustsinks or other pads in cnc backings? Just a thought really, if this happened to me I'd get metal backings straight away.
  24. the length of the chainstays is variable so it's probably awful on gaps great idea though
  25. That sitting next to a fat sweaty man that has just fallen asleep and can't hold an upright position in a bus isn't a nice experience.
