  1. Dear me... the plane is powered by jet stream and not through the wheels. As long as the wheels withstand the speed with which they need to turn, what's the problem? Some really retarded thinking here... And coming back to the train and fly thing, even if a fly had the same kinetic energy as the train it wouldn't stop it but punch straight through it. It's like shooting a bullet at a train, it won't slow it down. Sorry if these conclusions have been reached, 8 pages is too much to read through.
  2. Bubble wrap is one idea, what about these huge balls people sit in and tumble down steep hills? There's a name for it... As for the name, a poll could be fun. In 10 years time you could show your son the topic in which his name was decided upon. By that time most of us will have lost all our hair and grown long beards with lots of wildlife in them.
  3. He's really good on that motorbike Also what was this riding along people's legs about?
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tensile bashrings have a special fitting to go with the crank. I'm not sure if they can be used with other cranks?
  5. Ryan Leech and Rowan. I would only choose somebody who I would benefit from riding with. Rode with Neil and frankly speaking I don't think I'd learn anything because I was just watching him ride with my mouth open. Learned much more from Staples and Chai, they gave some very good advice. That's only regarding skills.
  6. I'm thinking about going to dual disc next year. I had a 20" DD and the rear wheel did flex quite a bit so I'm worried how bad this mightl be on a 26". How often do you have to get a new wheelbuild and what spokes do you use?
  7. Never thought I'd be watching the French news with such interest...

Just had a look at what Krisboats posted and I'm really impressed by #9. #11 and 12 are also good. That's exactly what I'd like to see in one of the skins on the new forum. edit: actually I prefer 11 and 12. 9 is too intense.
  9. That was great, good to see a video with big riding and without drop gaps. Top notch
  10. Who's that guy on the GU with red rims? Is it not Dan Pepin?
  11. Yeah, got that wrong, he was attempting 181cm but didn't manage. He beat Hermance by doing 176,2cm. 183,5cm is what Andreas Navrade did on a yellow 221 X-Lite which must have been at least 4 years ago. That's Braunschweig for you... Not an official world record, it was on a video from a show they did with Marco G.

I like that a lot. Looks very simple and clean, a bit on the BMX side for some reason. It also looks quite long ?
  13. I'd say it's not cuteness but all hell let loose. Can't understand a thing of what French women say in English, I had a tough time trying to buy tickets for the channel tunnel when driving to the UK edit: is this "LCI" channel streamed on the net somewhere? Preferably in HD?
  14. CC's are quite good. I had a Monty 2,7" for a while on my old bike and it was good but very heavy (200g over the CC). It was fairly bouncy and gave very good grip on natural. It was also wider than the CC which was another advantage. I haven't ridden Try-Alls but they do say they wear down fast.
  15. Nice work there, liked the balance lines, pivots and the pedalup from rear wheel. You look a bit more normal in that helmet though, a little less distinguishable. edit: disliked the camera angles if you really want to know
  16. Not bad, that up at 2:23 seemed quite large. Work on your taps a bit especially when you have a short run up. You'll get much more power out of a tap if you pedal constantly from the moment you've started moving.

When I joined this forum there were two colour schemes. I far preferred the dark one as it didn't make the eyes hurt as much. Generally I'm more in favor of dark colours when it comes to themes and skins. Don't go into colours, definitely don't make them stronger. A mild page is much nicer to read. I'd very much like to see the dark skin back. If any other colours were to be introduced, I'd fancy these:
  18. Coustsinks all the way. I guess that if you ride natural you'll be riding in various weather conditions. You can't go wrong with these pads, they're very good in dry weather and even better when it's a bit humid (serious, imo they work better when the rim is slightly wet). Also the pads are quite hard and so are the backings which gives a great feel on the lever. Steve has done a great job making these pads. Don't let the price put you off, they're worth every penny. Just make sure they'll fit into your frame as the backings are rather thick resulting in the pad being thicker than a normal 8mm pad with plastic backings.
  19. Lol that's exactly what I wrote in the comments and the responses were "what the hell are you talking about boy?" I think the official hook record belongs to Keita and is 183,5cm (got a vid from official world record breaking which means 3 attempts per height only). And as far as the highest tap goes, I wonder why nobody's mentioned the 1,5m tap Vincent did in Andy's 2nd Colorado vid? I'd say TRA's tap was over 1,5m but as Ash wrote, it wasn't a vertical wall.
  20. Nice Personally, I prefer quantity over quality, this time I've got both. Good work!
  21. As above + do some stretching. It's painful at first but moving around really helps.
  22. Not at all accurate but I guess what he's sidehopping onto is about 1.5m. Blame who made the video, and not Dani himself, he's an utter beast. Edit: also, an inch is 2,54cm not 2,5cm
