  1. In my opinion the Monty beat every frame I ever had apart from the long Team. I now hate mods but when I was riding them, the Monty was by far the nicest frame of them all. Very bouncy and incredible on natural. Just a perfect extension of your body.
  2. My mate (Rafal on t-f, rides for BT) is 6'8. Close topic
  3. I listen to music but only when riding alone. Used to listen to rock and similar stuff but that just made me loose control and put too much power into moves. The best music for me is something that makes me chill out and feel a bit sad. It keeps my mind on the technique, not the power. Cafe Del Mar seems good for this purpose.
  4. Had something with my ankle for 3 years now after breaking my bb on a ~9-10ft drop. It was explained to me what this could be (cracked talus if I remember correctly?) but I've no idea what that means and couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. It's extremely painful but only when doing certain moves like hooks. I've built up a street bike a few days ago just to find out I can't ride it because of this bloody injury Well, as long as I stick to trials, things should be fine.

    New Koxx Days Vid

Nice video It's funny how in Hungary you say the surname first, and then the name. How would Kennard's Ash(es) sound?
  6. I highly reccomend Echo perfumed grips. They're not only comfortable and have a good feel but have perfumed rubber which has quite a nice smell.
  7. Definitely going to buy it, but the editing in the trailer was annoying. You concentrate on one thing and then suddenly there's a completely different shot. Smooth transitions should be used with this kind of music. The video editing is slightly aggressive whereas the music is calm. Doesn't work.
  8. Deng's more like a drug which makes you see loads of colours around you and gradually takes over your life.
  9. Nice What camera was this filmed with? The image seemed extremely smooth. Liking Bessels move at the end of the vid.
  10. Well, why can't the LBS just order stuff from Deng? If they're going to stock a lot of gear then it's well worth it.
  11. Cousts all the way. They're wear resistant and grip fabulously in dry and wet weather. Does anybody else feel hungry when looking at Echo pads?
  12. Well, the frames are much less, what costs loads is transport. Then you get taxed for the value of the order inc. postage prices. Tax rates can't be that different in the UK, after all we're in the EU which should mean they're very similar. If they weren't, you'd just be importing gear to an EU country with the lowest tax and then sending it off to the UK. Forgot that the prices at TB include VAT
  13. Just to give you an idea about the prices, ZHI ZM1's retail over here for under 150, and the guy selling them makes a decent profit. Most new Deng frames are cheaper than battered frames you can buy on this forum. Tarty isn't cheap, it's incredibly expensive, especially when it comes to all these coloured components like headsets, hubs, cnc brake mounts (ie. deng headsets are under 30 this end, brake clamps are about 13, Echo CNC/Adamant cranks are 75/95) . So to make some profit, an lbs wouldn't have to put the prices up any higher than Tartybikes, unless the taxes in the UK are very different to the ones we have here. I guess the prices at Tarty are so high because it's their only source of revenue. By selling trials components they have to earn a living and pay for running a shop. In the case of an lbs, these costs are already covered. edit: I still think that Tarty would win with any other shops in terms of customer service. Even if a certain "pink" shop in the UK would offer prices very much lower than TB, I'd still stick to Mr. Read and Cleaver. So it's not only the price of goods, it's the service you get during and after purchase which Tartybikes are simply best at.
  14. Just google what Jake wrote and in the sponsored links you'll have their website where you can download the trailer from. Funny thing as I was going to post a topic about this film yesterday. Anyone know where the full version can be downloaded from?
  15. That's pretty poor comparing to how good his other videos are.

    Thrashed 6

That was really enjoyable. Good and interesting riding. One thing puzzles me I thought you ride street with elements of trials? Isn't this you?
  17. That's ridiculous I had that frame welded to the exact specifications by Mielec and run a Maggie on a 24" wheel on the rear
  18. Snakebites. I hate them yet I have to deal with them so often. Next comes my front brake, it's got too much drag. That's about it when it comes to riding over here because nobody takes interest in what we do and doesn't interfere with our riding. But when I went to England recently, I got fed up by these stupid people you call chavs constantly asking about how much the bike is worth etc. My god I'm so glad we don't have them over here...
  19. I liked that although I shouldn't. He's certainly got a bit of style so it's not just a boring go-as-big-as-you-can video. Nice work.
  20. Come on... A freewheel is on your cranks so when you rotate them, you're transferring the rotation directly to the freewheel. On a freehub, you transfer the rotation through a chain which in the case of mods will more often than not be a bit loose (if it's tight, you'll knacker the bearings). I can't feel the difference when riding but you will see it if you rotate the cranks slowly with your hand.
  21. Because you usually ride 18:12T on a mod, and you can't buy Middleburns with an 18T chainring. You could get a Super Pro Trials (16T) and a 11T sprocket which should give you a similar ratio to 18:12. But it'll be tough to get an 11T chainring on the rear, you can have it done if you use a Profile but that requires changing the driver.
