This will come in handy for me in the future, I'm also wondering if there's a colour people like most and least. If you want to vote for fluo colours, just choose the one which is most similar to your liking. Haven't included pink as you can't get a full pink colour scheme. Thanks for your time.
What's written in this topic is one thing, how many people Si has apparently helped - another. So he might have copied it from another website just because he thought it's exactly what he'd want us to know.
Good vid, but why don't you speak some Norwegian, it's much more fun than English. We've got a few members who will happily translate anything nasty you might want to say about us
There are quite a few advantages of running a high stem on low bb frame, I find gaps are easier and so are taps, hooks. I can see it also being good for natural riding as the bike is "closer" to you. However, sidehops are harder, wheelswaps and in general any static moves. I started off with a 145x25 stem on my A1, now changed to a 130x15 and there was a rapid improvement. Going to change to 130x0 soon. Don't do it.
I've heard from many people that the pink Echo pads are one of the best pads on the market. They wear down fairly quickly but brake incredibly well in all weather conditions.
I think the majority of Hope owners have had that problem. This brake is NOT worth 120 quid or how much it costs, nor are any Hope brakes. They're basically a pimp-like addition to your bike which you can easily find a substitute for. I've had mine for about a year and most of the time it's been pissing me off (what Dan wrote). Get the BB7, it's got the same amount of power if not more, and feels nicer. I'd say they're the best you can buy if you're running a rear disc (which is why I got mine), but there's a wide choice of front brakes which you will be very happy with and which cost less.
Rode 20" on and off for almost 5 years. Bought a 26" this year, made myself ride it although I was a bit reluctant at first. Guess what? I never want to ride a mod again. It's the most awful, gay, silly kind of bike on earth. Just totally wrong. And I'm progressing like never before.
Rode a 221Ti with a 180mm rotor on the rear, sidehopped to the left and never hit it. Rode a GU Short with a 203mm rotor on the rear, missed quite a few sidehops, never hit the rotor.
Either get a 1/8" or a new chainring, there's really nothing you can do about it. Unless you want to find the cause and spend hours with a file. You make it sound so easy
Personally, I'd go for something a bit different. Black bars, stem, fork, front hub, spokes and rim, and a white fluo rim on a silver hub and spokes on the rear. Should "separate" the front from the rear and look interesting.
I've got a Ti mod stem and it was a real challenge to get the Zoo bars through them. I'm guessing the stem you've shown has exactly the same clamp as mine. The problem is caused by the way the ZOO bars are bent. But yes, it's possible, it just takes a bit longer.
9ft was the biggest I did, really regret doing it now On average 7ft, I only do a drop to see how big I can go while still keeping the bike on the rear wheel. Kind of more fun that way
Might as well ask in this topic seeing as it's a bit related. Bought a used Hope lever recently and it's creaking when I press it hard. I had the same problem with my old lever, it doesn't influence the performance, just drives me crazy Is there a way of getting rid of that noise?
You can also see a bit of riding from him in Echo video 2. Although it's old, it's almost as (if not more) impressive than this vid. Rocks as well, but he rides them with a streety style and without correction hops. There was another video of him recently, called acidrop with pure street trials. He was riding an old pre-levelboss 26" Koxx as I understand, if not for an Adamant in one of the shots it'd be hard to prove the video is new.
