  1. Going to try that out in 10 minutes.

    Benny Vid 2!

What you did, you did well but it's still a gap-sidehop-gap-sidehop video.

I think it's great! The dropouts are very nicely designed, some good engineering there And for those of you who complain about horizontal dropouts, think about other advantages - the possibility of adjusting the wheelbase/cs length which I'm sure can only be beneficial to one's riding. You can always use a mech and gears. As for the weight factor, I doubt that having normal dropouts would change much. I also doubt an 8" wouldn't work with that frame. What Felix probably meant was that the minimum disc size is 6" which isn't the case in every disc frame.
  4. They feel short but they're not. I'd get the Control S if I were you. The Adamant is great, but the high bb makes some things very difficult, ie. gaps. Wheelswaps aren't that easy either. I guess the new Pure is also a good choice. I'm very happy with my A1 because it has boosted my skills a lot, but I'd rather have a much more "universal" frame. edit: Spotted Rowan's post. Indeed the old Pure is a great frame, and with a long stem it feels just like a nice long bike.
  5. All I can say is that London is a must. I'm not from the UK either but took part in a London ride and it was an extraordinary experience. Just take into account the prices of trains in the UK before you leave. My 2 day trip to Derby and back to London cost 90 pounds, would have cost 120 if we hadn't taken a double with Anzo. If you're not going by car (which I doubt you are) check the prices beforehand.
  6. Very nice video. Pity I'm using the same soundtrack in my video...
  7. It's interesting how they have changed the geometry of the "mod" frames. You'd think that despite it having a mod hub spacing, Deng would also make it feel like a mod. But he's done just the opposite - changed a frame which does feel like 20" due to the bb rise into a standard stock frame (ie. A1, Pitbull). These frames also seem to have different bb rise depending on their length. Does that mean they should feel the same despite a longer wheelbase?
  8. I'm bored roughly 80 hours a week, and when I'm bored, there's only one thing I can think of doing. So yeah, I sit and do nothing yet my hands are getting stronger and stronger.
  9. Johny Jones looks like he could be Simon's dad. Either way, neither does JJ look like he's 22, nor does Simon look 19. Nice pictures though, I didn't know Manning rode mod.
  10. Lol. What a silly thing to do Now that you have air in the system, the only thing you can do is to undo the resevoir cap, pump the lever and let the brake bleed itself, which it probably won't. If you don't want to get your hads dirty, an easy way of bleeding the whole system is to pump out all the fluid and poor some new DOT into the resevoir pumping the lever and making sure the resevoir is always full. Obviously the bleeding screw has to be undone. This worked with my M525 brake. Should be ok with the Hope as the system is the same.
  11. Stunning experience dude! I'd love to do something like that but I'll never have the guts. It seems so cheap, 70 pounds Dunno about that, but I've heard they taste like broccoli
  12. Thanks to an incident a while back I have understood that people will always be more important than one's passion, and that we should always think about others before we think about ourselves. Kind of obvious, but only now do I realize that despite knowing that, I very often thought only about myself. Nothing will last forever, so live your life in such a way so as not to regret what you have or haven't done in the past. There's nothing worse than to know you were given the chance to do something but didn't. And at last, "thanks" to a tragic accident 2 years back (in which 2 of my mates were killed) I understand that no death is a statistic but a traumatic experience for family members and friends (sometimes hundreds of people). I understand that my relatives won't be around forever and that each day could be the last day I will see them. edit: Enjoy college, uni is no longer as fun. I'd love to go back to college.
  13. Didn't quite know who this chap was, but I just saw it on the news and remembered... That's too bad, I loved to watch his programmes...
  14. Judging by other prices of steel frames in the UK, this will be damn expensive. And I don't think there's any reason for a steel frame to be more expensive than an alu one. The material is definitely cheaper and welding is much cheaper (and easier) as well.
  15. Front disc definitely, apart from making some moves easier, it's a quiet way to slow you down. Believe me, there's nothing worse than going fast down hill with a ground front rim, squeaky pads and some tar or other sticky shit spread on it. Apart from the noise, the braking might cost you some new pads. So do get the front disc, it's really worth it. As far as rear disc goes, it's a fine solution as long as you know how to keep it away from stuff that can damage it. That's why you should first get the feel of trials bikes in general, and then think about running a dual disc setup. It is a risk, the chances that you will land on your disc after a missed sidehop, or hit it when riding natural aren't that small. Apart from that, I don't see why a beginner should need the modulation and extra power a disc brake gives you. Those are pretty much the only advantages apart from it being dead quiet which doesn't really influence the feel and performance of the bike.
  16. Apparently VERY strong. Quoting some of Gazza's PMs about these frames (I was going to get one as well): And answering other questions you will no doubt want to know the answers to:
  17. Also got the GigaPipe BB? It's a nuisance to get on... the shell is 73mm but they give you a 2mm spacer which is supposed to make it fit onto 68mm frames. Idiots. Bike looks mint and I bet it rides well, the short GU's are great!
  18. I'm SO sorry, I forgot to weigh the screws, so here's your 266g as opposed to 242. Why does one have to prove everything one says? The brake isn't resting on anything so don't you jump to conclusions.
  19. Only just taken my time to watch it properly. Absolutely marvelous editing. Must be the best I've seen in quite a while.
  20. Yep, he did say it was bullshit but after 3 months of living together with that guy she can only: -Love him to bits -Hate him and kill him, and then commit suicide which would make her no.1 on Emo Most Favoured People List. And then all the Emos would commit suicide or cut themselves and die. Either way you'd have heard about it on BangorTV. I think Joe should go for all 3 girls. Meet one at 4pm, the other at 6pm and the one you like most (being #2) at 8pm which will give you a chance to attack her with what has been hard all day since 4pm.
  21. I use Gusset grips (you can get them from Tarty). They're soft, have a good grip and a very nice feel.
  22. These are the figures (weighed by me): Rear 05 Maggie with mounts - 242g Hope Trials with 180mm disc - 420g (or something similar). Note that this brake has an extremely lightweight rotor making it very light comparing to other brakes with similar power.
