  1. I've never indulged myself in egg painting before (apart from when I was 5) but today I did and I'm f**king proud of myself. Kim was a bit challenging, I've got no painting skills at all but since he's on the other (northern) side of Psy, it should be pretty obvious who he is.

  3. Haha, this country still has a lot to learn. A local business tycoon (who I think owns a Porsche dealership) had two Porsches covered in police vinyls at the shop where I built my M3 and then had them driven around town for a bit. The result is pure comedy, the internet is full of outraged idiots who believe public money was spent on police Porsches despite the number plates being standard public ones (police are completely different). There are even people who claim to have been stopped by one of them on the motorway today  The media are none the wiser. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius, probably no more than 1 grand was spent on wrapping them but it's already gone viral and there are massive debates everywhere about whether they are real or not.
  4. I've always hated the high roller, especially the dual ply which seems to be the only compound the 24" is sold in this country (yeah, we are pretty backwards). Got confirmation from the Schwalbe dealer that they'll be getting some Big Bettys in 1 week but since it's arriving in a container, I'm expecting the usual delays. Really want to have a go on it now, having built the wheels up I find the position fantastic. Also weighed it in at 6.44kg without tyres or tubes, looks promising.
  5. There's actually a small tractor left to the model name I'm too lazy to start riding street-trials, just going with something familiar. Hope I'll like this frame/wheel size. It'll be at least 1 week till the rear tyre arrives. If the weather improves, I'll just go with a High Roller dual ply.
  6. It's a Rockman Tractor, apparently very weak and no longer in production if I'm not mistaken. But for my riding style it should be just fine. I've called every single shop which came up with a Big Betty or Muddy Mary in Google, none have it in stock although most claim to. Absolutely pathetic. Fat Albert comes up with the same shops, might give them a call again. At least I managed to get a 2.1" Rocket Ron. Really don't want to be stuck with a 24" High Roller on the rear which weighs more than the moon.
  7. Indeed, really looking forward to building it up. Really annoyed about the tyres though. Are there any other light alternatives to a 2.4" Big Betty?
  8. A 24" frame came in the post today. Got it pretty much for free so pretty excited. Ironically, the only thing now stopping me from building up a 24 is the complete lack of rear tyres. I've called at least 5 bike shops, none have a rear Big Betty.
  9. The argument that a gun is just a tool is so stupid. Sure, it is a tool but it's a tool designed to kill or harm people. A knife can also be a weapon but you don't buy one for it's offensive capabilities but to chop food. With regards to printing guns, I'm not going to be worried as long as ammo isn't easily available in my country. Frankly speaking, I'm more astounded by the positive possibilities 3d printing offers rather than some nut cases printing weapons.
  10. It could be them driving around in big cars and not unplugging chargers when not used but it could also be something else; if cows produce a lot of methane then imagine the aftermath of a dinosaur fart. Personally I hope global warming will continue, it was -19C at night today and it's almost April. f**k such weather.
  11. Cheers! Very interesting point, one we didn't consider at all. There's apparently a 110/120bhp 1600cc Daihatsu Applause engine which should fit this car. Could be an easy alternative. The other is tuning of the current engine. Judging by the vid below, there's a lot of potential in this little engine. And the video from Friday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVVD-0F_0_c Particularly proud of 5:26, took me ages to get that part right.
  12. Had one of the best days in months. We went to a practice session at "rallyland", a deserted military airfield that had been converted for motorsport use. With about 20cm of snow, we had a plow set a very long (7-8 minute) stage on the airfield and around it. Daihatsu performed brilliantly until my friend broke the clutch on it, previously breaking the clutch on his Subaru Type R. It wasn't really his fault but it was rather amusing that he destroyed two clutches today. Mine was completely shot, with the engine running you could engage gears effortlessly without using the clutch. He offered to pay for the repair but I refused since it failed literally minutes after he took my car. Car definitely needs more power, we'll be looking into a VTEC engine this summer but probably a single cam since a B16A2 would give the car over 200bhp/tonne. That could be major overkill. Hope it won't be too difficult to mate this gearbox to a Honda motor. Will post some vids later on, meanwhile:
  13. 1 year with the missus. We spent the evening reminiscing and re-creating the first date. So lucky to have her.
  14. Well, Echo have apparently looked into the quality of these freewheels, specifically the assembly and heat treatment. However, while they point out what they checked, they don't talk about conclusions. So it's hard to say whether the quality problems will be resolved, at least Echo have acknowledged that there could be something wrong.
  15. Probably the most boring video from me yet, anyway... Came 3rd in class 2 which is full of highly tuned Seicentos and Cinquecentos. Pretty good result I think considering that 2,5 runs were done on a mostly wet track with little snow Long compilation, it's amazing how badly people drive in these conditions. Also drove my dentist's M5 yesterday, he kept nagging me to give it the beans so I did, after a short while of accelerating I decided to back off since I thought we were doing about 120mph, turned out it was 170. Fastest I've ever been in a car. Ridiculous power, it's just so relentless.
  16. Went to collect a car from a tuner with my friend yesterday. We covered 600 miles, were supposed to be back at midnight but arrived at home at 7am due to poor planning. Found out that there's a 5am, don't think I've seen that time of day for months or even years. Must say it was incredibly pretty at dawn with all the snow and a thick low fog in the distance. Looked like a hostile alien planet.
  17. Only the rear brake is more powerful because the rim/wheel diameter ratio is higher on a stock than it is on a mod due to the massive tyre. The difference on the front wheel is marginal.
  18. Would releasing stress from rage/anger by punching something - when you know it's going to hurt - be classed as self harm? If so I'm sometimes prone to that, I've never broken bones but there's usually a fair amount of blood and pain afterwards. Don't want to sound weird here but it works.
  19. Doesn't it mean both actually?
  20. The name is wicked but so is the bike. Amazing, I'm almost retired and I want that bike NOW.
  21. Personal opinion I know, but to me they look like old Shimano Altus cranks
  22. Hahaha f**king love the one where they wake the guy up, put a banana in his mouth, give him a TV, put him in the cupboard and he just stands there.
  23. Commissioned a new website. Initial mockup of the frontend was to arrive within 3 days of signing the contract. It's been 10 days now, got absolutely nothing and what I love about this team is that they think I'm an idiot. So a few days ago I heard that the guy responsible for design has a horrible disease and is thoughtfully finishing the project at home. He was supposed to send it yesterday, I called the team leader today and he pretended to be very surprised that I didn't get anything because he sent me an email yesterday. Yeah right. He said no problem, I'll send it to you again, just let me start my computer. An hour later I call him to ask whether his windows is still loading and he says yeah we have a problem with our email server. Haha. Suggests sending the project to me from his private gmail address, I agree to it, he asks a few times if I'm sure? Needless to say nothing has arrived yet. What idiots. Well, now I'm going to be super fastidious and fussy.
  24. So what did you guys think? Thought that as a special this was not very good. Apart from the river crossing and them stealing bits from each others cars, nothing was going on most of the time. Vietnam special still the best of them all imo.
