I've got a question to the 24" crowd regarding fun. What about using a short low bb mod for street trials? They spin like crazy and they're incredibly playful to ride (well, that's coming from a stock rider). A few years ago I got a snapped short Lite back and built it up. Absolutely loved it. Currently if I were to build up a bike for fun, it'd be one of those mods, not a 24".

Riding is more of an addiction to me so I feel unhappy if I don't ride for a longer period of time. When out on the bike I don't feel unusualy happy. It's a different story up in the mountains. The obstacles are much more challenging in a way I like (not to go big but to be accurate and smooth) and this year a few factors like weather, people, a feeling of power and the perfect obstacles turned a few riding sessions into the most amount of fun I've had on my bike in many years. It was more of an "I appreciate the awesomeness of this moment" kind of happiness than smiling at everything around me.

Yeah, that would be terrible.

Do you mean you posess the skill of floating on water? I'd probably transfer my skills to driving of some sort, time attack probably.

And your small business could be dedicated to helping people who sit in front of their computer all night. Try to read some books maybe? Clean your room so it's nice and tidy for when you get up in the morning? There's not that much one can do at this time of day actually. That's what I've been doing ever since I'm stuck at home.

The axle is integrated with the bearings and shell but not with the bb cups. Just twat the axle and the whole thing will fall out the other end you big pussy!

The moment you start to undo the bb, you'll be mashing the threads up - mostly on the cup, less so in the frame. If you haven't done more then 1 rotation in/out since it seized then you really ought to break the cup up. You won't be able to re-use it anyway, and you might save some thread on the frame. edit: the axle in a First bb will hammer out very easily, it's not 1 part with the cup. Just give it a few taps with a wooden mallet and it'll fall out the other end.

Adam is probably right, happened to me on a few occasions too. Although it doesn't entirely make sense to me, I was recently replacing a Reset BB in a Sky frame, removed the broken one, put shit loads of copper grease on the new one, screwed it in and... yeah. Why did the new one weld, whereas the old one I could undo with my fingers? Edit: shocking the threads won't help, you haven't got them anymore. What Adam said about two people having to turn a frame with the bb tool locked in a vice is true, that's how much force you need. Easily 500-600Nm of it. What I did once when the bb jammed close to the end of the thread was to hammer it out and just leave the cup in. Then make cuts in the cup from the outside which allowed me to break it up and slide a screwdriver between the threads. Having done that, I had the frame tapped and all was good.

Know a lot of riders who are 32 and are still really good. Actually thought he was closer to 40. However, that video was just boring. He's an amazing rider, just got carried away with all that spinning. A proper video by him:

In case anyone was wondering why he looks like that, he's sponsored by Armani.

I'd certainly want something like that for my 7, would love the straight pipe noise of a V8 when driving on country roads combined with it being as quiet as it is for daily use. I like most of the ideas, just don't see the point of monitoring exhaust temp. That's a bit geeky. Also LCD screen doesn't sound right. When designing the control unit, try to think what kind of cars would be the target for such an exhaust system. Although I could be a bit biased, I'd expect it to mostly be executive saloons with big and powerful engines (V8/V10/V12). Therefore, the control unit should be suited to the interior of such a car. If you find that the main application of your system would be an ammateur trackday car then LCD screen + gimmicks are fine. But if it's for a luxury sedan then it should be fairly discreet, preferably with just a few simple buttons that can be hidden away somwhere.

Asked about that brake on here a month ago, no reviews or opinions unfortunately.
-
That's well worded. On such obstacles I'd expect someone with more flow and a slightly more dynamic riding style, something a bit like yours maybe.

That's going to snap after 3 weeks of use.

Thank god this is not another thread with a pic of the M5.

Yeah found that too. They take absolutely ages to bed in compared to Avids or Hopes even using water.

I don't get this whole scandium thing. Doesn't 1kg of that stuff costs well over £100,000?
-
Nope, no boner yet

Yep, loved how they get boxed like it's an ordinary household item. There's also an easter egg in one of the first levels where they perform a vocal quartet

You were right, Portal 2 is a great game. So funny at places too, still can't get over how the turrets are tested for good manners and the cranky ones get thrown away

Look like bog standard forks to me. How do Saints compare to Mono Trials brakes? Heard that Saints are very powerful.

Got a very strong retro feel from this video. It felt a lot like the Braunschweig or VTCZ vids from the late 90's and early 00's. This could be thanks to the rather unusual tyres and colourful frames (especially the yellow Inspired) which looked a lot like the 221 X-Lite's they all used to run. Thoroughly enjoyable and very well made. Silver Inspired rider was my favourite, really nice style. Looks a lot like an ex BMX rider?

Might have a few more. Remember when: Shimano 2 pawl, single spring freewheels were the best trials freewheels around. You welded your 19" rim when the sidewalls got too thin and started to split. Monty used a strange 1 1/4" headset which posed huge compatibility issues with anything else on the market. Riders actually sat on their seats when riding between obstacles, some of the plastic trials specific ones would break during vigorous pedaling and turn the seat post into an anal probe. Can't think of any more.
