  1. There is also a 4bolt version of this frame, happy! Really not looking at changing my bike but this one is so tempting.
  2. Don't know what to say. That's how good it was. And it put a massive smile on my face which still hasn't come off.
  3. Ordered some authentic Coust pads from Raul in the past, arrived very quickly. Also did some other business with him. It's a genuine and big store, nothing to worry about.
  4. I'm using a Bonz 150x35 stem with Bonz carbon bars on the '11 Control (geometry is identical to the Pure) and it's brilliant. I'm 180cm tall.
  5. The mod hub was a BMX disc hub custom assembled by Aspirevelotech. The one I'm running now was originally silver and I got it 2nd hand. Checked its age before changing shells and it turned out that the production date was between 2001 and 2003, don't remember exactly. The Ring Drive spline on the drive shell is visibly worn by now but that doesn't interfere with performance at all.

  7. My King is probably about 10 years old now, it works better and better with every year of use. Might have skipped on me in the last 5 years 3-4 times but never under load. However, that's an old King. Get a new one and you'll be in a world of shit. Bearings fall apart, axles break (even HD ones), the RD mechanism keeps skipping. Out of all my mates who have Kings, I have yet to come across a hub which works properly. They all hate them with a passion. If you can get hold of a 2nd hand King (preferably pre ~2006) which has had many years of use on an XC bike then you might be in for a treat. Or else try to find one which has been used on a trials bike and has proven to be reliable. Otherwise forget it. I wouldn't swap my hub for 5 new ones, that's how bad they are now.
  8. James May at the edge of space? Yeah it's definitely worth a watch though it's pretty short.
  9. It looks like using a phone to actually call someone is becoming really old fashioned
  10. The pin which secures the piston in the caliper could have detached itself. It's not common but possible. When you push it back, can you feel anything "clicking" inside? (can't find the correct word) Or the other way to find out if it's that or just a hard seal / air, would be to see if you can pull the piston out of the caliper. To do that you'd need to undo the bleed screw first.
  11. Hm was expecting to see Benito driving a Mercedes.
  12. This must be the first vid ruined by a squeaking and creaking bike Although it might give Aener a run for his money Brakeless fight!
  13. Someone might have some spares around, these freewheels sometimes fail leaving people with much of the parts still intact. Put an ad up in the classifieds.
  14. Very good riding there.
  15. That's the stupidest quote I've heard in my life. EMS is a good service to use within Europe.
  16. Yep, otherwise you'll go through a few frames before the warranty expires.
  17. Once got a tap stuck in a hub axle, got it out by cutting a slot in it using an angle grinder. What remained of the axle was just about long enough to suport the wheel in the dropout. Drilling it out or even drilling a tiny hole in it is nigh on impossible due to how hard the material is.
  18. You probably won't be able to get one anywhere in Europe right now. They'll be back in stock late October / early November apparently. Just have to wait.
  19. Don't know about the bash but out of those two I'd probably go for TryAlls since they're made of 7075. Of course it all depends on the quality of the alloy, but the Echo cranks aren't known for everlasting tapers/isis splines. Although if you've stripped a thread (guessing pedal?) it's most likely your own fault, not the cranks. It usually happens if you run around with a loose pedal.
  20. You'll find that quite a lot of people do.
