  1. team we prefer trials small so we can be smug? hoooo
  2. usual practise for most of them, bit wierd when a guy full on stopped me in the street, puts his hands on my bars to stop me moving off and tells me he's going to have to arrest me for it (i shit you not) wasn't even with the bacon, i wasn't impressed
  3. it'll be flooded with cheap bikes, and as sales and demand rises, more companies will enter the trials market, deflating the costs for the consumer and bring innovation and money to the sport. along with striping every small wall of it's corners and leaving them bashed and abused with the flood of trials newbs
  4. got hassled yesterday by some over opinionated members of the public about riding, what are the rules about reflectors and bells? i was under the belief that bikes had to be sold with them, but they didn't need them to stay on?
  5. don't need to find a cable to give you silly power with a bb7, bb7s are stupidly powerful anyway... high end shimano outer is super smooth. you want fancier cable for a vee brake, where finger strength counts a bit more...
  6. maybe if trials didn't have so many secret homosexuals ^^ it would be less gay... edit: XC shorts *** anyway
  7. mod's will never be as light as stocks cause no ones made a stupidly light set of 20/19 tyres. the lightest unmodified mod tyre is 998g, the lightest unmodified 26" tyre is 478g, the lightest 19" mod rear rim is only 175g lighter than the lightest 26 rear rim, even with the slight savings spokes offer, it'll be hard to make the difference up.
  8. cheap SD7 levers cheap sd 5s cheap sd7s
  9. 6.9kgs less grease, 6.7kg with alloy bolts

    file it? but f**kabout it'd take forever + angle grinders are proved and tested
  11. silence Youtube Video -> ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  12. are the spokes that stick out as crossed as the other spokes in the wheel? pictures?
  13. i saw this bike a few weeks ago, the frames not cracked, it's just not very stiff, get a booster on there asap. the wheels not got loose spokes, and spokes should not be TIGHT... and the setups a bit tight cause at a guess rims werent as wide back in 04 as the echo urban thats in there now
  14. don't f**k around with your frame, use vee brakes! i've run maguras, discs and vees, i'm confident i won't go back to a magura any time soon i love my vee brake! i'm a big b*****d at 106kgs but i've not felt it slip since i got some decent pads, i even got reasonable performance from the standard black pads (better than magura blacks, so that says alot for the power of vees....)
  15. t-pro over the t bird anyday of the week, it's got fantastic geometry for a starter frame! ideally go for the comp, but if not the t-pro is still a fantastic bike for the money...
  16. take out the 2nd wall, buy a dremel, and a file, cut the inner wall out, a section at a time, make sure you're in no rush to get it done cause if you rush you'll f**k it up + loose the rim, then use a file to smoothen off any burs and away you go, pretty obvious really? plenty of people have single-walled a rim, not worth it if your a basher though...
  17. just a thought for a thread, if you find an epic bargain for biking gear on the interwebs post it in here, but make sure you include search tags as well as a link. everyone loves a bargain. vee brake pads 6 quid, for 2 pairs (probably only useful for front brakes where you don't need epic performance) search tags: Vee pads please don't spam me try to avoid one offs like ebay, unless theres a few products on buy it now, try to focus on the disposables in trials? BBs Chains, brake cables...
  18. my vee is being really shit, the callipers are really slow to return i think it's cause i've tried to use a gear cable instead of a brake cable. as a few people have suggested on here. does it need to be a specific gear cable?
  19. no, they're listed as having 2.5'' maxxis tyres, so they'll be 19
  20. recent incident happened to a girl in the year above me (shared a class with her) she was in a car accident the other person in the car (don't know who was driving/passenger ) died on impact with the bridge, the other survived that but the car had landed in water and they found her half out of the car, she'd drowned (not been flung out). i'd hate too see my best mate die + have to bail on them + drown after scaphing sounds prety rank tbf
