i have 94mm spacing according to tarty, and i can run an echo urban rim 46mm wide although when i have new heatsink pads i need to run my adapters (onza) all the way out.

gear ratio, 22-18, 18-15, 24-20 are the usual weapon of choice for stock riders.

simtras only a +20 bb so bars will feel higher than if you've dabbled on other stocks with more bb rise (this is purely a guess that you've only tried higher bb stocks before cause there more popular) and you'll feel more at home with more bb rise cause the geo feels more like a mod, ride it and give it a go before you dick about changing it

long or short GU? what year are they? whats the complete spec? a poor frame with a good set of components will be better than a great frame with poor components..

your limited to kings and pro2s, your right alot of trials stuff is generic gear, but it's a convenience to buy stuff branded as "trials" gear, cause you can expect it to be more suited to the job, makes it a lot easier when things with suitable geometries are laid out for us, instead of needing an extensive knowledge of mtb gear and fanying about hunting for gear.

my bikes looking a bit tatty, i'm getting a new frame soon and figured since i'll have everything in bits it'd be a good opportunity to spray it a new colour. i plan on having a look in halfords for colours i'm thinking orange frame/forks, green rims. are there any websites for high quality spray paints? i dont mind spending a few quid if i know it's going to last how about prepping my frame/forks/rims? i'm buying a new front rim soon, so i lke the look of the trialtech fluro green, i'll try match my rear rim with spray paint (already done a hash job to make it black) also how are trialtech rims for strength and holding grinds? cheers

echo urban forks are spot on for the price/weight/strength you get them in any flavour of braking option, 2 colours i won't run anything else i see forks as disposable and wouldn't spend more than £100 on them, i know trialtechs are good, but there to dear and they'll still snap yummy 152 grams heavier than the sl's, which is merk all, you could save that in a lighter rim/spokes, i'd rather have less weight in my rims you can usually predict if there gunna go tits up forks will just surprise you one day

how is a rockman frame strong? there to new to really know about, it's not like the old frames, they are strong cause there still going after 3-4 years of abuse

not necessarily, i can't imagine a hydroxx or sky lasting years, even with just light or intermediate use, what are people calling heavy anyway? i'd be happy with a 2.2kg frame if it had the right features geo and would last. i don't like the current frames on the market to much, i miss the 2006 deng frames, they were brilliant for strength/weight
