went mtbing today, took ms ogre too. made the red route at the pines in 47 minutes, which i'm pleased with for my 2nd ever ride around the place (and first attempt at doing it with gusto) i even managed to fit in a tasty stack. during my post ride maintenance i found the cause for my roady gears shifting like toss (lockring was loose and cassette was wobbly)

i've bought a go pro instead, i was hoping i could just get a derailleur and get a spacer up. Does it have to be the x-0 9 or any 9 speed sram shifter? is this one ok? if i buy the sram shifter can i choose between sram and shimano derailleurs? i'm saving links for next pay day... would this one or this one be fine with the sram shifter.

the satnav was discontinued so they had no price, so we were allowed them for free. the camelbak had been left off display and was heavily reduced by head office. and with discount on top i was sorted

i'm in a bind as to which cadence sensor to buy; the topeak one is £10 cheaper but you can't replace the batteries. the tomtom one matches and i already have one but i dislike it being a 2 part design. fwp

Whats the difference between long and short cages? I presume its in relation to having multiple front chainrings. can I have a clutch style derailleur on a 9 speed set up? I cant afford to go 10 speed. But my standard derailleur is a rattly b*****d. Will the pull ratio be all toss and affect shifts? Cheers tf
