  1. you should be able to, it will just be harder to learn, i don't think you drive the wheel round so much as keep the bike in place while you push your effort through it. put a picture of your hub/casette so we can diagnose why...
  2. i want an enduro machine. i was so impressed with the specialized enduro, but i'd want to try a few machines at that price point before comiting obviously. i guess 130-150, i'm not aversed to 9ers at all.
  3. drivetrain and brakes; i used two bikes with sram 11 speed, it was fantastic compared the the 2*10 i used, i looked on crc at the cost of cassettes and i'd preffer to stick with shimano cause they're cheaper and i'd presume i'd get equal quality from either. my experience of shimano brakes has been superb, avids have never impressed me like shimano have, so i'd preffer shimano brakes too . i'm planning on working for a bike shop so i'm not too price conscious, i just want the right kit straight away or i'll waste money getting it later on...
  4. i'm wanting a full susser after uni, which brands ship with shimano?

    The Angry Thread.

after some futher maths, i need to get at least 35% in each exam to maintain my 2:2 and avoid any resits. if i start talking about bum love and give hillarious advice in the agony aunt/teen thread will that make it better?

    The Angry Thread.

sorry baby. angry because i can't get higher than a 2:2, unless i acheived over 70% in three exams, i'm just not at that level of capability, on the flip side, i only need to pass each exam to maintain my 2:2
  7. hey does anyone know if i could use a standard steel bolt in place of the nice aluminium ones on my hope tech levers. while i get the current ones anodised? what thread would i need? cheers guys

    Folding Bikes

folding bikes are ace! just make sure you like the folding mechanism on the one you choose. the carrera ones from halfords are worth looking at; if you join british cycling you get 10% off the rrp... the proper dahons are excellent bits of kit, and should last very well, as will the bromptons. be critical about how long you plan on owning/using it, and how often your going to use it too. if your only using it lightly and occasionally just go as cheap as you can. you should know from trials bikes that if you want it more reliable and be longer lasting you'll have to pony up more cash...
  9. i'd agree that bending isn't good, but snapping a bashplate isn't good either; alu is likely to bend but if it does it's usually likely to die soon after. bending back the ring wasn't a problem either the impact that bent it was a bit of a wierd scenario, i don't imagine any bash ring would have faired very well in the incident.
  10. They're good. I have bent mine to the point it affected my drive train. I bent it back. Loosened my ffw rotated the bash and I'm still using the same ring... Make it so you can put a bolt in it that sits against the crank so when you tighten the ffw the bash can't rotate...
  11. this was taken at the bike demo, i guess it's technically trials i cheated and used an E bike too, i like them, if it gets people out on the trails it can't be bad brap
  12. get it anodised or shot blasted so it's different to the usual...

  19. because their heavy and hideous... another vote for grinding down a starnut to fit...
  20. i know the dates don't co-incide but i thought they did an early showing of stuff at the last tarty days... and i can't imagine that showing it to a handful of trials nerds will really affect their total views on release day... you'll all be qaiting to watch it again aha
  21. based on my experience of radfest you'll be able to blag lifts to the local supermarket, or be able to ask someone to pick stuff up for you.... bring critical spares if you have them. probably to early to ask, but since i won't be at tartydays this year, i trust there are no plans to stop tartydays? and is the new danny mac video getting premiered @ tartydays? if so massive baw
