    Zoot

in on the zoot theme and a nicer pic of older spec... such sweet bikes, if youe thinking about buying one, DO IT!
  2. sprung tensioners are good, get a dual wheeled one every time though, superstar components make a good one for a good price, but if run a normal gearing and can get good chain tension without a device then you could weasily bodge something to take up the little slack that remains...
  3. they're both very good bikes, i have a zoot and i'm realy happy with it, however the standard spec model for 2012 needs some alterations straight away: better chain tugs, quality brake pads, and alloy forks, other than that it's a sound bike, the inspired is a much higher quality bike, but the price reflects that, and you'd benefit in the long run as the need to upgrade won't be as significant, i had to drastically change the spec of my zoot for it to be right, i'd be far happier with the inspired as is, but getting the zoot earlier cause it's cheaper could do you some favours just so you can start sooner...
  4. removing the mounts seems silly to me, if you think you'll sell the frame in the future you've successfully alienated a huge number of potential buyers
  5. i have pmed you, i think we can help eachother out
  6. Inclined to disagree, with the all out spend if available option, even if you had unlimited budget, and everyone else had unlimited budget, there's still only so far you need to take it on the initial spend, in my eyes the following features are a bare minimum for any buy: isis oversize bars proper trials freewheel/freehub (or space in your budget to allow one, tensile ffw is mindblowing value... sealed hubs/more sealed bearings as the spend increases... trials bikes are delightfully simple, and as far as buying parts go, they're like AK47's for compatibility, unlike mtb and road bikes where owning one brand of shifter will define your choice of mechs and you can be tied into buying things a certain way forever without spending a huge amount to make drastic changes, trials gear all fits and works nicely most of the time, and the bikes in my experience on a whole are pretty reliable/cheap to maintain. and i don't disagree with a comprehensive initial investment to make sure the bulk of the bike is good to go for a good stint of time with no surprises. looks likes you can't buy a complete 26" from tarty thats in any way bad or unsuitable for purpose anymore, and the blade is a mad bargain you'd be silly to spend less than that on a 20" for new or you'll spend over the odds when upgrading it in the long run, unless you're heartfelt sure trials is the most important thing you need in your life where spending £1200 on a sturdy high end bike not a SL comp machine is a great idea/investment... TLDR: if going second hand ISIS oversize bars sealed hubs (rear at minimum) proper trials freehub/freewheel if new, £650 for a mod with a decent enough spec to not give you any nasty suprises. (actually a pretty respectable achievement if you consider what a good mtb costs nowadays...)# and 26"s don't exist for just shy of £999, (is this purely cause onza don't have anything out other than a high end 26" where is the 26" BLADE? or any reasonably decent 26" frame for under £200?
  7. i demand video, i rock a silly hard pressure on my 24" would i be ok running tubeless?
  8. 5-10s are what you should be considering nowadays, i liked my inopias but 5-10s wipe the floor with them..

    Carbon Fibre

you can't discriminate a new product on price, it's still a huge USP, prices will be silly for years, if you consider the amount of research and tech that goes into designing and manufacturing a frame it's really not unfair the price they charge.

  13. from what i remember the high EP is via each pawl having a ridged edge so it had multiple point of engagement, so the engagements are quite shallow, i wouldn't trust it for trials...

    Help With Bikes

when i was in good shape and on my fixie every day for 3 months, i could do 6 miles in under 20 minutes, theres no way i could match that speed on a jump bike/similar, it'd suck, get the right tool for the job, get an old steel roadie or something similar and you'll blast along...
  23. stem is an important part of it too, i'm using a 70*35 with TT high risers, it's a tasty set up
