  1. its steel, doesn't need to be as large diameter tubes to be as strong as allow. looks nice! whats the perk of the vee mounts underneath?
  2. on 18-12 a king will have an effective 108 engagements, so theres no performance benefit if you were wanting a faster engagement a 108click freewheel will feel just the same in theory. A front freewheel brings the weight away from the back of the bike and to the centre, this makes it feel lighter. Actual weights: 175g Echo SL freewheel (£60) 187g Echo SL rear hub (£80) 136g Topgun carbon fiber (£60) 362g (echo hub) 311g (speed race hub) Chris King (£370) 292g plus the weight of the front sprocket.(no weights on tarty) so the weight saving really isn't that great, versus the cost of just the bare parts 120/140 vs 370. buy some nice riding shorts with the money you'l save and no more munched jeans..

    Windows 7

if your in college/uni/school, or know someone who is, you can get it alot cheaper...£40 for windows 7 (upgrade) you can get office for the same price to...
  4. my thoughts too! the forum was a lot better when he was around and you could just put on your boots and kick her in the tits...
  5. open it up, clean it out, re oil it, close it, see if its ok then?
  6. the tilted drop outs surely do naff all if the weight of the rider is enough to move the hub to tension the chain, surely stamping on the pedals would drag the wheel out of line? or am i being stupid and not seeing the cam lugs
  7. when i had a trialtech in urban forks with a vee with heatsink pads, they were reasonably square, probably had to check the pad angle after a big ride though, a thinner rim is probably better, might be worth holding back on the wheel build and checking the spacing/alignment?
  8. built in boosters are great, even better if you have an extra booster on top, it seems a shame to miss them out, even a bit of extra bracing would be nice, when i shop for a frame i look for as many built in features as possible, booster, disc mounts an tensioner they add value to the frame.
  9. f**k off, having massive bearings and massive axles with no added weight of the shell and stuff you get when you buy a normal BB is obviously bad your forced to use isis but theres no square taper cranks worth buying anyway. the TI one available now is lighter than the reset ti bb and it's the same price...
  10. orange pedals black everything else, and have orange bolts where possible?
  11. spraying the frame should be a problem, also don't be in the belief that vee brakes are no good for trials, i've been using one for over a year on the rear, after 5 years of riding it's easily the best brake i've ever used, and i've tried all the best magura pads and set ups. also theres this super bargain if they'll ship to south africa.
  12. any size will fit assuming you have the right disc adapter for your caliper, i think the forks have a "normal" disc tab with no extra spacing, so whatever comes with your disc when you buy it, if your meaning what rotor size do you need, i'd take a stab that you ride mod so a 160 or 180 will be fine, if your on a stock a 180 or 200 is a better idea...

    Which Headset?

£20 102g sealed bearings.... only available in pink, but you could spray it, or embrace the pink... otherwise theres this with a few colours, again £20 and sealed and light....
  14. i once landed into someone after dropping, they saw me and acted up to stop me, i was way far past my balance point to stop though
  15. best square taper bb going, would probably have the resale value too... really you should go to isis though, cheapest way is these or these if you have a bash plate and this scandalously cheap ISIS bb...

any suggestions for a smaller headphone/earphone, i've got surround sound speakers so i only need one ear for comms really, wired is fine too...

    V Brake Booster

decent vee boosters are hard to come across, get a salsa or shimano? carbon fiber one if you get the chance, there highly rated, otherwise start hunting round local bike shops that might have something kicking around, oh an avoid carbon fiber effect boosters cause they're plastic and flexy and full of fail...
  21. sealed bearings for £27 the whole range is really worth a shout if you want something pretty on your bike for Christmas
