  1. Hi, Im looking to make a video of all the stuff that goes down from the locals so to speak. what editing programme does everyone use? what do you like to see in a video e.g: linking of stylee sections with tech, and a little big hucks or anything like that. all this will help loads, and the more replies the more hehlp it will be. please reply with anything you feel is relevent to a good video too. cheers tom
  2. Yooo Nick, once everyone (me :$ ) has got there bike built we got to get a big sesh out portland, haha twould be awesome. Anyone up for that? Tom
  3. is this right? seemed very strange to me at first then i examened it and the bikes are very slightly different. zoo - 24 seven 24 Seven - zoo? has mr holroyd moved and its me being slow catching on or what? Cheers Tom P.S. 24 seven looks rather nice though
  4. ive only found out they were tooo long now. cos they just baout going in to hold the brake calipers on, so the first few times they moved i thought i wasnt doing them up tight enough bit late to gring them down now. Tom
  5. not running a booster cos the echo frame has one built in, didnt specify short bolts but neither did they, so why does that put me in the wrong? and how am i supposed to know as i bought it as a new frame??? TOm
  6. threads are pretty shallow but as i said in my very first post all the threads are crushed from the lumps on the ends of the bolts y is it my fault then for buy a new frame and brake mounts and fitting them? eh? thats all ive done and its f*cked up from there. so it any my fault cos all i have done is set my brake up right and it popped out and theni reset my brake re tightened it and when i was givin my bike a check over i loosened off my brake mount bolts and they got tight so i decoded to take them out to have a look at them. is it my own fault that selectbikes sent me the too long bolts when i bought the mounts off them then? Cheers TOm
  7. helicoil tool snapped inside frame, mate i work for an engineering company and ive been down that road already and yes it was done professionally so im not going the helicoil road again, to be honest if i dont get a replacement frame im not going to bother with trials again cos its cost me about £450 in the past 2 months first for a second hand frame that got f**ked and now for a brand new frame thats has done just about the same. Tom
  8. errrrrrmm. no helicoiling f*cked my frame up last time so i had to buy this one. do you think i can get a warrenty or whatever it is replacement? Cheers Tom
  9. yeah and you would expect select to state the problem for future reference cos now my frame is completely F**ked as there is not enough thread of the bolt ot hold properly Tom
  10. Hi, I've just taken my rear wheel off my echo team 05 frame which i had bought about 2 weeks before christmas and i also bought new magura mounts for select bikes at the same time. i was taking these bolts out of the frame literally minutes ago and sunndenly 3 out of the 4 bolts became tight. My sudden thoughts were "Oh Sh*t have i cross theaded them?" but i remember threading the bolts in until it reached the mount by hand. no i have managed to get the bolts out and i have notice a large bulky build up of aluminiums which looks to of been crushed onto the bolt (on 3 of them, 1 bolt is fine) and when i check the threads i noticed they have been crushed F**K. Am I able to claim a free new one from select bike or something cos the bolts i have used to tighten the maguras on (the ones i bought from select bikes) have reached the bottom of the brake mounts and gone too far on afterwards. and this wasnt even tight enough to hold my magura cylenders in place they keep popping out after a couple of days of riding and they ARE TIGHT. Major Help Please Cheers Tom PICS: Link To Piccie
  11. mate let me get back to you tomorro evening, and ill have all the correct drill sizes wrote down for you from work. unless theres someone else that knows the drilling size. sorry i cant help more ill get back to you tomorro. Cheers Tom
  12. heres what you will need for helicoiling: a drill that is the correct tapping size for a m5 wire insert tap 1 m5 wire insert spiral flute tap 5+ m5 helicoils 1 m5 helicoiling tool a small set square but doin it yourself is one hell of a job, im an apprentis at a local engineering firm where i live, and ive had an old trials frame scrapped cos the helicoil tool snapped in my frame, be carefull to make sure that you drill the tapping hole straight, and tapp the hole straight too, you can check the angles with the set square. ill find out the drill size for you asap if you need i can write a guide for you too. Hope this helps Cheers TOm
  13. ok then looks like its gonna be a painful week haha. ill keeep you informed on how i get on. Thanks again. Tom
  14. hi, i've lately been pushing to get higher and higher sidehops on my mod trials bike. i've been practicing on pallets so its not to harsh but i've got to 31 inches high (5 pallets) and i no matter what i try i cant seem to get any higher than this, i've tried a double wheel sidehop and a sidehop from on the rear wheel and i cant make 6 pallets for sh*t whats the deal with this i been trying to get higher all week and i've had no luck and secret techniques to sidehops that people would like to share? cheers Tom
  15. i been riding for about 8 weeks, ive used to have a echo em2r but i striped the brake mount treads out of the frame and then my dad completely f**ked it up trying to fix it, so no i got an echo team frame 05 and changed all the other parts over. Tom
  16. Portland, rode trials for a couple of weeks now, havent seen all the rials places on portland yet though its awesome, thers rock quarries where theres broken cut rock for as far as you can see the only limit is your skill level. mbuk have been here and done a trials photo shoot couldnt tell you much more about it, you have to come and find out for yourself give it a try sometime Tom
  17. get a white industries eno trials freewheel eno is the the name white industries have given to one of there freewheels. Tom
  18. errrmmm ok then, does the lever have a good pull to it or does it feel spongey? check to make sure the pistons are moving freely. have you tried new pads? ummm i dont know what else to do really, try to work to a trial and error theory, cheak the whole system for leaks or anything, pads, pistons, disc. have you tried another disc on the brake that you are running? or another brake on the disc that you are running? Tom
  19. it took me about a day of riding my trials bike to learn how to pedal hop. i cant explain how i learnt but where i ride (portland) i kinda got chucked in the deep end and had to learn quickly and i did, riding with people that are better than you really REALLY helps. Tom
  20. he could get the disc surface ground that might help actually, it will eliminate all the buckles (highspots in the disc) and the disc would be like the day you bought but probably better lol almost mirrored if its done properly. still new brake pads would help a treat mate its soulds like you have got oil or grease on the pads, did you clean the rotor with meths or anything to check there wasnt any grease on it from when it came from the factory. get the pads out of the caliper, sit them in a pan of water, add fairy liquid to the water, and boil them for about 2 mins. then take them out and rub the braking face down with wet and dry prefably on a serface plate to make sure there flat, then if the brake is better the pads are contaminated, so you know to get new pads. hope this helps. Tom
  21. theres 3 compunds, the one with the orange stripe round is the 60a which is a very hard compound, there is also a 42a super tacky trye and 40a slow reezay tyre. Tom
  22. what type of echo, mod or stock? i ride a mod echo team, the 05 one, lime green maguras, where'd u hear/ see that or was it a different one? whos your mates you ride with then? Tim? We ought to get a ride arranged sometime and get a nice big sesh going. Tom
  23. im 16 and i been riding for just over 2 weeks now, and i can backwheel something 21 inchs high, sidehop onto something 22 inchs high, go to bash on something 38 inchs high, and gap flat to flat 53 inches (4 foot 5") it makes me feel so crap compaired to the other riders around here , but i got one thing up on all of them i can go from bash to backwheel on anything i get up Tom
  24. it has to be what happened to me today, we were marking out a trials section in all the scrap rock at the masonry, i rode it to test it, naturaly u alter tough sections, me and my mate put a 5 foot long bridge which was a slab of rock about an inch thick, accross a gap about 6 foot high off the ground. i walked across it carrying my bike, just to make sure it was safe my mat was stood by the path way outside the rocks, all of a sudden the rock bridge snapped when i was on the middle of it and i went falling out of site with a tumble of rocks, i had to get my mate to dig me out hahaha. dont worrie no bikes was harm in this accient, my shins are pretty scraped though Tom
  25. hey, alright mate, portland rocks, quite literally to be honest, ill get some pics up next weekend when i can find my digital camera. let me know when your bikes built and we show you around. portland is in the south west of england, in dorset. its about7 or 8 miles away from weymouth. search it in google and your find it.
