Right havent run vees for near on ten years now and was just wondering peoples opinions / experiences with pads. Whats the best pad out there for a smooth rim and whats the best pad for a ground rim? Is it even worth running a smooth rim?? Cheers .

Dave and matt i have found its no good trying to show and explain all this to people who have not researched / ever thought about it because these people need to find out themselves. Look at ancient history, read books, use your common sense how was it that thousands of years ago these civilisations were able to make such creations and so accurately. Nice mate i was close to buying it before you but decided it was little bit too steep for a second hand sky. Looks even better with them bars personally i would do the forks black aswell would look soo much better. Anyway enjoy! Oh and what you doing with the speedrace now?

Does it really matter? I mean sometimes you are going to land the front first depending on a lot of factors sometimes it might be beneficial to go to front.. Look at beleays sidehop he always lands front wheel first..

I find your pedal rotation is the key, i find if you judge your run up perfect with your rotation it helps a lot as you get a lot more momentum which is what you want. So to start practising i would try one full pedal rotation, to do this you have to be quite close and the proper technique is to start with your fav foot forward and as your other foot is coming round in the roation this is when you should start lifting the front wheel so by the time you fav foot comes round to the horizontal positon you are 'tapping' the wall / object.. Its hard to explain and even harder to learn it was one of the key things we all used to practise and now its second nature but that technique you want to start learning.. Heres an example take notice of the crank rotaion / front wheel lift. Slow it down at 1:36 giacomo best in the world at it.

From my experience stay away from the older 2010 sl brakes they are a joke. Just put maggys slaves on my sl lever see how it works out but the sl slaves are terrible for leakage.
