  1. Spacers...that's a good idea. To be honest i've just recently bought the bike and haven't had a good look at the cranks. Do you know how the sprocket attaches? Do i need a special tool to remove it?
  2. I bought a kmc kool 1/8" chain for my bike, but the chain catches on the bashring. I guess i'll need a normal 8spd chain, any suggestions? Ta
  3. Yeah i can see what you mean. It's a chris king hub. Ta
  4. Cheers for the replies, Thing is though the spokes on the right are real tight, the ones on the left are quite loose, so should i back off the right side half a turn and tighten up the left half a turn? Ta
  5. Hey all, right the problem i have is this... When i pedal hard it pulls the rim to one side slightly and rubs on the brake pad. Very annoying. The spokes on one side of the wheel do feel looser than the other, but if i tighten them up won't it permantly pull the wheel to one side? Do i have to loosen the other side first?? Any help would be great, ta.
  6. Yeah that's a good idea, already shortened and joined the chain though. D'oh!! If i got a half link chain that would sort it out wouldn't it? If so can anyone suggest one? Ta.
  7. Sorry i meant taking out a link and joining it. Using a fresh products tensioner.
  8. Hey, Decided to single speed my ashton got it all sorted apart from the chain tension. Use a kmc cool chain and when i use the split link it's way too loose even with the tensioner, but when i join the chain it's too tight. Anyone got any ideas? Ta, Matt
  9. Hey, i'm after a fixed tensioner; was looking at the fresh products one but apparantly it isn't going to be released until autumn. Can anyone reccomend a similar tensioner? Thanks
  10. Hey, Sorry to sorta hijack your thread but... Does anyone know of any bars with a 2.5" rise and a 31.8 clamp size? Ta, Matt.
  11. Thanks for that Whilst looking on chain reaction i saw an atomlab G.I. street rim: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7402 Anyone know anything about it? Ta.
  12. yeah yeah, that's the stuff!!!! I'll deffo have a shop around for one of them. Just out of interest, how's that brake setup working for you? Matt.
  13. yeah that'd be wicked if you could mate
  14. Hey, I've got a d521 on the rear at the mo, but it's a right pain to set up my rear mag as the braking surface is small. This means it's difficult to set it up without the pad coming off the rim/rubbing the tyre. Does any have any suggestions of a wider rim with a larger sidewall? Oh yeah an it's gotta fit in a ashton. Cheers, Matt
  15. Yeah but my stem's 28.6 and i can't afford to buy a new stem and bars.
  16. I run a azonic shorty stem with brisa bars but fancy something with a bit more height. And yeah it is annoying!
  17. Hey, anyone know of any decent 28.6 risers? I know of azonic chubbys but heard there a bit snap-happy. Cheers.
  18. Cheers for that. Has anyone tried reinforcing the side wall of tires with duck tape or insulation tape? Surely this would prevent tires with thinner sidewalls pinching?
  19. Hey, just wondered if anyones had any experience of using these tires?
  20. Alright, just wondered if i can use a 9 speed shifter when i'm only using a 6speed cassette on the rear? Thanks.
  21. Hey can anyone recommend a stem length/degrees and bar for an ashton justice? Thanks
