Addingham Moorside

as barbara has said, the matter that "were able to have a trial" at adidngham this year is great, i hope there are trials held there next year and it re-opens for practising.

I know the addingham comp will get alot of support from the members of Tykes, as the "british champ" round will/may get support from those who have championship commitments, to become brit champ etc (Y):)

Ian which one are you going to????i think savage is going to Addingham then riding the last brit round at Hook woods, as its 4 out of 5 count? (i think)

Wayne.

The oliver's will be at the home of British Biketrial that weekend! ;)

Hahaha, blimey no need to go off on one.

I left the snoozy emoticon there to show I was being sarcastic because other people where saying to move the Rochdale round hence the quote I left. Its quite funny how intent you are to state your case, haha.

The dates have been made available on the ukbiketrial website for a long time and now, so the dates have been known, thats that.

Atleast all I can say is at least we have attempted to change the date or sort something last Sunday at round 3, I'm not intending to start an argument although it looks like you are intent to do so with your reply.

Rochdale mototrial club are the club running the Rochdale round, well that's what club it's getting run under, through various people.

Personally I think that having the trial the weekend after the world round is fine, I don't see the problem myself, although that's just my personal opinion, I don't know though really so don't ask me your not really bothered are you, just just want to cause an argument.

I only come on here to say that an attempt was made to change the date, but it was too late, just to let everybody know so they didn't keep asking, I'm not getting into a silly argument, the situation isn't good, but theres nothing that can be done.

My granda has a saying about some people 'he talks alot, but he doesn't actually say anything'

It seems your saying the rochdale round was not organised to clash on purpose, which means who ever was conducting the re-search to see if there were any other events on didn't do their job, have the comittee taken measures to ensure this doesn't happen again?

It's obviously frustrating alot of people....

what's with a motorbike club organising a biketrial round?

its about the ACU insurance etc etc. clubs who hold brit champs have to be ACU affiliated for the insurance to be "correct" i think.

So i take it i wont be seeing you that sunday ian? :(;) only kidding. that was a JOKE/sarcy comment for people who did not get the joke.

hang on a second!!!

biketrial constitution, point number one:

BikeTrial is an 'original sport' and since its creation it has maintained and must continue to maintain its independence and complete identity against any other federation.

this is from the ukbiketrial.co.uk website.:rolleyes:

point number two:

b)BikeTrial was born in order to be run by its own specialists who are experts in this particular sport.

how very confusing.

Could not resist replying;

Jake, you raise some important points, the contradictions puzzle me to.

Ali C, it’s not an argument, people are expressing their choice.

When the organizational split came I agreed to help continue running events on dates as published at the time, that is how it had always been done, events advertised as early as possible to allow interested parties to make holiday plans etc. For a time the "new organizers" advertised that some of our events would be included in their series. I saw that as a way towards dual activity, I tried to negotiate a joint effort, but at the time there were two major stumbling blocks.

1) The "new organizers" insisted that we use ACU insurance. This was not an option for us.

2) The new organizers insisted that our group pay them £250 for each of our events that we allowed them to use. Financially this was not an option for us.

So as the above was unacceptable the divide was in place.

The "new organizers" replaced our events with events of their own - ON THE SAME DATES.

I have always felt this was foolish to say the least; the clashes could so easily have been avoided. My business operates in the BikeTrial environment, the more events the better, but not clashes, that is just being bloody minded.

Let’s take a cold look at the clash; it is likely that the event will attract fewer competitors than Devon, as riders have a choice.

As a business where should I go on the day? Last weekend I took a six hour drive down to Devon. The comp disappointingly attracted about 25 riders, 9 of which receive support from me! I would much prefer my Bikes to be viewed by a larger audience, but due to bad organization the BIU series has been poorly attended.

Addingham is a great venue, the event will be well attended with all the usual facilities in place, but riders you have a choice, go to the event you think will be best for you. Politics aside Addingham looks to be the favorite

Fred.

We'll be there 10'ish on Saturday to unlock for the loos etc if you can get up Matt. Sorry John, won't be up Friday night, going to get the paperwork etc done in plenty of time instead of at 2am on Sunday!!!

Press have confirmed that they'll be there and are sending photographer and reporter, TV very interested but haven't confirmed yet, and Silsden Council are sending along the Mayor to support us!

Pre-entries are now about the same as the pre-entries were for Blackpool - if anyone's planning on coming but haven't entered yet, as always I will take entries on the day (but would REALLY appreciate a phone call, text or email to let me know name, age, class).

Entry fee £10 - everyone welcome from complete beginners to elite/master.

See everyone there!

:( i'm not going to be there now i've got to go to the other one, i thought there was 3 left of the "british champs" but braken isn't being re-arranged so that means theres only 2 left so to stand any chance of going up to master next year i need to do them both :( I was really looking forward to addingham, and as your setting some of the old world sections it make even more mad as It would be kool to see how they are 2 years futher down the line.

Hope you all have a great day, it'll be hard not to at such a great venue anyone still unsure wether to go get there, it's an ace venue and the national series have been excellent this year, see some of you in Japan and the rest of you at the last round (Y)

Yeh Pat we are in the same boat. Rob needs to do the one at rochdale to stand a chance of winning this year, it would be nice for him to move up a class next year on his new bike with a 4th british behind him(even though it has not been heavily contested i here some of you say). ;)

Any way good luck little Jonty I hope you have a good day. (Y) We can not make it as he is doing very well in the other series and tyke trial champs so more to loose and a lot more people in his class to ride against.

P.S. All the major organisers need to get together and book there trials in advance for next year or this will happen again.

See you all on Sunday it's gonna be hot, sunny, tough but safe and most of all BIG FUN.

I'm off to set up now.

Seems like a good idea

anthony

Don't get your point.

We set our dates in 06. We have kept to them.

You set your dates to clash with ours, changed venues at the last moment, causing people to make wasted journeys, lose accommodation money etc. Our events were set in advance, they will always be set in advance to give riders the chance to plan. No doubt if we announce our 08 dates now your committee will contrive to clash.
