Balman
Right basicly iv seen the a2z disk adapter wich seems to work but its only for vert dropouts and being a mod rider i have horizontal drop outs so firstly is there anyway i can get it to bodge and not move ect or should it not make a difernce?secondly if that don't work is there anywere i could buy a disk tab as i have a good friend that has offerd to weld and heat treat my frame for me or could i use a 20plus disk adapter so you gave fit like 200mm rotor on a 180 pair of forks could i weld one to the frame and use it as a tab? Or would that not work at all just trying to cover this from every angle really i have a disk and i have the wheel just a matter of getin it done now, any help would be very much apreciated as im a little stuck.thanks in advanceJack
ZeroMatt
I recall seeing an adaptor that bolts onto the 4 bolt mounts and goes over the axle (or something similar atleast) a fair while back, can't really remember how effective it was but will have a look for it.Edit: found it here, best to pm him and see what it was like. Jsy Ben
The a2z adapter will work with your horizontal dropouts, hard to explain why but i've got one on my jump bikes which has horizontal dropouts and its all good Basically it'l move with your axle as you push your wheel back and the lil' adjustable arm in the top right corner of the adapter should, with the adapter at the right angle, sit against the frame fine, stopping it from moving forward/down. There abit of a biatch to set up but i think they hold in place after very well, only problem i can imagine is backwards force occuring with trials use as there isn't anything to stop it moving backwards eg. hopping back from failed backwheel attempt and holding the backbrake to stop you flipping would put the adapter off completly. Someone with a T-lite combated this with an arm from the adapter to his mounts, think its still on the first page on bike pics or maybe second. Just remember, the more bolts/adapters/shims you put between the caliper and the frame..... your odds of failures of some sort dramatically increase. Muel
Just get a piece of steel, and make one of these...I went through loads of sketching ideas and this was the best on I found, and works really well, dead stiff and it hasn't bent at all since I fitted it.
