Chappie
Hi,Im new here, i ride an onza T-pro but have been having a few probs with the barbed magura fittings. Went to side hop off wall and the cross over pipe burst on me. . . wasnt nice! Bought a repair kit for the maguras, but i cant get the braided nipple inside the pipe, just wondering if anyone has any tips or are there any online tuts?CheersChappie
2sixstreet
There might be a correct way which someone will post but I held the end over a gentle flame (ie candle) and then used a nail or allen key etc to open up the inside whilst it was still a bit pliable. Dont go so big that it is easy to push on the barb though, you need some resistance. I've not had a problem since.
Chappie
Cheers 2sixstreet, kinda tried that but with boiling water, never really got it to work. Might try again! Do you know what the 2 white plastic blocks in the kits are for? Clamping the hose i was thinking?Chappie
chrisbikefix
those blocks are for clamping the hose what i have done is placed the cable (using the blocks) in a vice, then used a bit of mieral brake fluid to lube the insert up, then gently tapped it in. becarefull though as you could split the hose
Chappie
Cheers, that worked excellent. Clamped the pipe and tapped barbed fitting in.
steve@banbury-trials
when your tapping the fitting in make sure its going in perfectly straight otherwise it may lead to some problems .do you bash your hose a lot?maybe if you do you should invest in a brake booster or a braided crossover steve
