neotropolis
I am wondering whether I should get my rims drilled or not, or whether i should just buy some new rims that are already drilled. The rims I currently have are Onza Reggie and Ronnie. Can anyone help me please?
EVMK
Hi mateIf i was you, i would not bother!Im sure some other riders will say just drill them but if you buy new rims you know they are designed and drilled as good as they can be, plus it means you can keep your old rims incase you break you new ones!If you like the rims you have, just buy drilled ronnie and reggies as i did!Ive just brought a near rear Echo rim, give them a try because alot of riders use them so they can't be too bad!Hope this helps! eskimo
That's a fair point. But the drilled rims aren't anything special, i mean they're just pressed out with a machine. Some areas are thicker than others on the rims to try and avoid the loss of strength when drilling. But they do vary. If you have a large drill bit & patience just stick the drill through the rim a few times. It'll be fine!I also doubt the drilled versions of them rims are actually any different to what you have now. Apart from the holes.
adam 94
I'd get new rims, maybe the new echo ones, or try-all. Echo seem stronger

doopdoopbedoop
Read up on other peoples past experience with drilling and go right ahead and do it! It's easy as an easy thing, and is a nice way of shaving a bit of weight.
