its personal preferance and depends if you feel confident enough to do it yourself.

powercoating is fairly cheep i think, possibly £40-£50 for a frame.

if i was you, i would just take alot of time and care doing it myself, and make sure i got a good finish and then laquer it (Y)

I find getting it powder coated tends to be the best option, just had my Zenith done today and I've had a few old trail bikes done in the past.

You get a stronger finish which will hold up to scratches and scuffs a lot better than a spray job as it doesn't usually take much to get that back to bare metal!

Edit: My stock cost me £30 although I had a fiver knocked off for them mucking me about!

I looked into getting one of my frames powdercoated a few weeks ago and they quoted me between £30-£40 and when I sprayed my bmx frame before christmas I spent around £45 on prepping spraypaint and lacquer to get a half decent finish and also powdercoating is a much better finish and harder to chip so personaly if I wanted to do another frame I would go for powdercoating, Hope this helps.

Well in norwich there is a place I think its called Mastercoating or Mastercoat not sure which one and they specialise in powdercoating and paintstripping and things on those lines but im sure if you searched about on google you would be able to find someone in your area.

Hello i have recently sprayed my own frame, if your looking for a power coat look i would recommend that you buy matt paint, e.g. saterine black.

First thing i would do is rub it back to the primer or base coat, then two light layers of saterine black and see what you think i did this and it looks amazing so sprayed my forks to match.

Hope this helps Ollie.
