Bear in mind Chris' dyno isn't a boy racer one so doesn't give inflated results. You'd probably make 300bhp on other RRs!

In fact, my old Westfield made exactly the same power as your car at EFI, but 320 on another one in Bolton

It's deffo being restricted though somewhere as the power curve goes up steadily then just flat lines. Should have a pic. One sec

Thinking out loud...

If it's a 3" decat stepped straight into a 2.5" link pipe then that will royally f**k up your gas flow and be putting a load of back pressure on the turbine wheel preventing it from spooling properly.  If you put a conical section in there it should help massively compared to a step.  Changing the length and position of the cone will affect the engine tune as well, but that's for someone with more experience to know about :)

Basically what Luke said. You probably know, but turbos don't want any back pressure, there's no more to it than than, no pulse tuning, no charge robbing, that stuff was all mashed up by the turbine the gasses just went through. All you want is the lowest pressure at the turbine possible, to give the largest pressure difference across it's blades. That said, a smoothly dealt with step down in tube size is ok, but the transition will make a big difference, and 2.25" is definitely small for the power levels you're aiming for. What's the intake into the turbo like?

As above really Dan. Turbo motors don't need the exhaust harmonics an NA engine wants. Get it out as quickly and easily as possible. If your downpipe is 3" have a system made to suit that follows the same size throughout.

I was watching this on youtube and it reminded me of you:

It's certainly easier with one! Dead lucky to be allowed to use them anytime.

Haha I watched that start to finish, some nice bits on that car. Id like to try the R888R next.

If you removed the stickers that would really help, they just look tacky. I quite like the estate as it looks purposeful but in reality it's not

alot of the stickers have been removed just not took new pictures yet as mine ( estate ) has two spare 14 inch rims on it as need tyres on two the ats cups and both very dirty at mo. mine having new wheel colour to so not getting cleaned till back looking half desent. partners hatch has also got have its lower rubber lip taken off as caught it and ripped part of it so looking bit worse for wear. at end of month both getting sorted. oh and estate gets used like that. took me and partner and 3 kids on holiday filled rite up. bought set of wheels home. and had 5 pallets in it and 4 pallets on roof for back garden trials course. it my daily and it the family car to. gets alot of use and has 206,000 miles on it to

Wheels have been refurb'd and they are STUNNING. Not on the car yet, as I want to add the original Speedline decals before I coat them and spray the Renault centre caps black as per the other badges.

Also bought some new bits to polish the headlights as they've gone yellow again.

There's a serious risk my car might not look like a shed at this rate!

Final prep for Castle Combe on Tuesday :D

Fitted an additional fan, so I now have two fans that kick in when you press the AC button. Not ideal that she runs warm, but I've run out of time to find the problem for now...

Just needs a coolant top up, then I'm good to go. (Well, it needs more than that, but at a minimum, coolant is needed)

Well, another day another spending money on stuff I tell myself I need...

First i'll start with some maintenance. It turns out my wishbone is catching the gearbox a bit due to how low the car is at. The wishbone angle is absolutely awful so I attempted to raise the suspension but the platforms were seized solid. So after muchos swearing and some plus gas I finally freed them, disassembled them and greased them all up. Then used some tights from the other halfs cupboard to protect them for a bit. Hopefully they last but most likely i'll order some proper covers. For now they'll do.

Check the wishbone angle at my current ride height

And the offending coilovers. Pure top mounts holding out well to salt...

All greased and covered

Raised 20mm up from which should hopefully sort out the catching.

Ordered an oil temp and pressure gauge in one from Racetech. And the sandwich plate and everything else to go with it.

I am tempted to make a guide with all the parts required as theres not much info available for this so for me to create a definitive guide would really help others out I reckon.

Oil temp sender is mech, fitting into a 3/8 fitting however its not moving the dial when in hot water. Weird

Sandwich plate all installed. Just waiting on an m20 x 1.5 extension bolt so i can re-install my sandwich plate for the cooler.

I then routed the cables and wanted it as neat as possible through a grommet to stop fretting and then through the original tweeter cover. It's already bugging me that the grommet is of sub quality and you can see the frayed manufacturing marks on it here haha

All in position though, absolutely love where it is as it's out of the way and perfect for a quick glance now and again to check everything is good.

I welded 12 holes up on my Land Rover chassis today. Didn't take any pictures, probably for the best. Probably should have just bought a new chassis, but wanted to repair for fun. It's finally ready to get sealed up underneath and put some wheels back on it, after about 2 years on axle stands...

Last week, 2 things happened.

Firstly, the MK passed it's MOT! WOO.

Second, this:

All that just to get the gearbox out....

Gearbox is off to be rebuilt - got a worn synchro which has been playing up pretty much since I got it. So figured it was finally time to get it sorted.

Going to replace cambelt whilst it's all apart also.

Great stuff Ads, nice work! Where were you? Lovely weather for it too :)

Had my stag do this weekend and we ended up karting at Thruxton yesterday - properly good! Outdoors and the karts are a bit more serious than the indoor (Teamsport-type) places I've been before.

Happywith my driving improving through the day (best lap for me was a 52.657s), and managed to keep up with a few folk I thought would leave me for dust which I was happy with. Kennard had an absolute blinder in the final race, top shit Ash.

Frustratingly my timing transponder cocked up in the final race, so I don't have all the data to geek over and confirm but certainly seemed to be my most consistent session by far. Makes me want to get out on track more, so once I have a little more spare time/cash that'll be happening. Might have to book you in for some tuition, Adam!

A fairly TF-heavy crowd for the day too, thanks to @Prawny Baby, @RobinJI, @Bigman, @Ben Moore, @J.KYDD, @Ash-Kennard and @Rich Hill for getting involved and making it a good'un!
