London nights out

Hey guys

My mate and me plan to have our birthdays as a weekend long partying in London, it will be my 20th and his 19th

We plan to go to Ministry of Sound as VIPs on Saturday ( cause f*ck it why not) and we are looking for a pub styled place for Friday more for drinking and having fun rather than HC partying... but who knows.

What have you heard of Ministry of Sound? is there a better place for us?

Any good larger like club pubs in London?

We are looking for more like Uni clubs and pubs, we have no interest in men in their 40s looking for 18 y-o girls....

I don't know who's on the night you're looking at, but Ministry is usually pretty good for that kinda thing - House, progressive, trance... It does depend on the event though, so check out the line up first.

It's a shame Turnmills closed down, they used to have amazing trance nights there.

I'm a little out of touch with London these days but my old stomping ground was Vauxhall, in clubs like Hidden. Hidden is a great little club and the main room has a pretty impressive sound system, basically just a wall of bass haha.

Ministry of sound is pants. You'll spend an hour or so in the queue, get practically strip searched by the bouncers, spend a months wages on a drink and be massively disappointed with the sound.

Clubs I go to London wise are: Oval space, corsica studios and occasionally fabric. Fire in vauxhall is decent on the right night too. But I'm more into house/techno based stuff.

Is there nowhere in Ireland? Sounds awful for to go just for a few nights out no offense?

we do not really want to go out around 12th of july, as there could be rather large tensions in the country.....

and my mate lives near London anyway

1. Well yeah, it is kinda famous and it is expected, but yeah so alternatives

2 are Oval and corsica better, and if yes, which way? 2 20 y-o guys celebrating their birthdays, does this place sounds about right for it?

are there any girls there, or they are like men dominated places?(big nono for us)

They're more about the music. If you are looking to pull then the more generic clubs are the places to head.

We just have different ideas of a good night out I guess.

Well not really but now i am not sure what i want/ need like:/

If you want to have a fun, memorable night out then there are plenty of random little small bars/clubs/places you can go to where you might find something a bit different going on. The guy I used to live with used to work at a sports bar in Soho and used to go out on the piss after work. He used to just go to different little pubs/clubs around there and generally had an awesome time. One time he ended up in some pretty wild jazz bar/club place where things got f**king loose, another time he ended up playing poker in a Chinese restaurant kitchen with some Chinese mafia dudes who were playing for insane sums of cash/other goods, all the while smashing the shit out of a load of coke they had on some kind of silver platter setup...

Just going to stock places to listen to stock music and paying out the arse for drinks is all well and good, but one of the best things about London is its diversity so maybe just getting amongst shit and seeing where you end up might lead to a fun night out too.

Or you getting raped.

Or you getting raped.

basically that is the reason why we try to avoid the above mentioned situations

We will be in a massive city far away from home, and sh,t will go down, but we do not want to get into dangerous stuff

That was a joke more than anything - most of the bigger parts of London like that are fine really. To put it into perspective, every time I was out in Central shit was always cool. When I was out in Brixton things were hectic (in a police vans, stabbings, etc. kinda way).

London isn't the place the news/people who don't really know it that well make it out to be.

I've had a good time in some indie night in the LSE (London School of Economics) and a place called Candy box which i seem to remember is on greek street in soho. Also been to some club called like club 44 or some shit in soho that was kinda wild but you need £££ if you gon get crunk there. Club 151 on Kings road is kinda fun in a made in chelsea kinda way.
