Restoring old Yeti Tree Frog - rear wheel advice

Hi,

I'm restoring an old Yeti Tree Frog mod trials bike. I got it as a frame and fork only, no wheels. However it came with some Pirelli tires which I wanted to reuse. I built a set of 20" wheels with Bullseye tandem hubs. This worked fine for the front wheel but it appears that the rear tire is meant for a 16" rim (19" wheel). I can't seem to find a suitable rim (396x30) to re-lace the wheel with.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Tartybikes are your best bet for that, they stock a whole range of 19" rear rims as that is pretty much the standard size for a mod rear wheel.

Having looked at some pics online it looks like they run a 20" rear wheel so if you build a 19" modern rim up I don't think the brake mounts will line up??

The rear tire that came with this particular frame is a Pirelli ML14 16x2.5. So it's a 20" tire that mounts on a 16 or 396mm rim.

I have another Tree Frog, but that one seems to not be a mod setup as it's running 2" Pirellis front and rear. The mod bike has a 115mm rear axle spacing the regular one is 135mm.

I was more looking for a brand of vintage rim that would have been available in the early 90s. Tartybikes has some 36 hole Monty rims in 19". Sadly they are 36 and the hubs I have are 48. So, I may just build up a spare wheel in 19" to use the 2.5" tire and maybe buy another 2" Pirelli to put onto the 20" wheel.
