Scott Gibbs
Which Magura hose splitters would you kind folks recommend? Want to freshen up my brake set up and want to try a hose splitter as I've heard they even up the action of the slaves hitting the rim? Dazza1414
only 3 options I think, monty trialtech or raceline
AdamR28
Trialtech. Easiest to fit, most durable. In theory it shouldn't even out the slaves, but for some reason in practice most people have found an improvement.
Scott Gibbs
What fittings do I need for the Trialtech ones Adam?
AdamR28
M6 barbed fittings. Should be on the product description, if not my apologies, let me know and I'll add it!
Scott Gibbs
It is I did see it! Ha ha so you'd recommend the Trialtech one?
AdamR28
Personally yes.
Scott Gibbs
Ok is it the m8 bolts I need to block off the extra hole on the slave cylinders?
niconj
in practice most people have found an improvement. I haven't with the Trialtech one. That's why I wouldn't bother.
isitafox
Ok is it the m8 bolts I need to block off the extra hole on the slave cylinders? Personally I would block up the M6 holes and use shroud nuts to join the hose to the slaves.
ZArgrave
Personally I would block up the M6 holes and use shroud nuts to join the hose to the slaves. The m8 isn't a real m8 lol some fine thread so it'll be a pain finding something to block it off with.
isitafox
Chainring bolts are the same pitch (big hole through the middle may cause problems though...)
Scott Gibbs
This bolt is an M6?
isitafox
I'm confused, what was the question??

Scott Gibbs
I'll need 2 of those to blank off the holes left by using the splitter then? I did notice that Adam I only got the brakes yesterday so it'll need replacing
AdamR28
Yes, providing you have M6/M8 slaves and use a shroud nut / olive between the splitter and slave.
Scott Gibbs
They're 04' maguras if that helps?
AdamR28
Likely to be one M6/M8 and the other M8/M8, but you should check.
niconj
It's a M8x0.75 bolt. Any standard M8 bolt won't fit.
