Joe Sheehan
Just looking for a decision over what rear brake to run on my mod? I don't mind investing in pads etc to make the brake better, but I want the best brake for hold/feel. Opinions on a postcard please.
isitafox
Both disc? I assume you already own both brakes?
Joe Sheehan
Both disc? I assume you already own both brakes? Both disc, I have neither, buying a frame and brake off of a forum member, just wanted advice on which brake to choose.
isitafox
If you go for the Echo TR brake you'll be able to run Jitsie/Trialtech pads which are the best going though try to go with a Hope rotor over the standard Echo one.
BJ.
From past experience: Echo TR: Decent bite but not very good hold, calliper and lever both started leaking and the lever feels horrible. Magura Louise: Not overly keen on the lever but they work okay. to be honest I'd go for anything Shimano over either of the above. Deores are about £30 brand new and work very good! SLX are a bit more expensive at around £80 but they work amazing! Saints are a lot more expensive but should be able to get a second hand one for about £80 and you'll never use another brake again! Joe Sheehan
Hmm not sure what to do, reviews on the TR aren't great and the louise looks very bulky. Tempted to just go back to Avid BB7's as they did me no harm last time!
