Custom Hope Front Hub Axle

7 posts in this topic

Hi chaps,

I remember seeing that somebody was machining up a bolt-in axle conversion for front Hope hubs? I've got a QR fitted to my Pro 4 at the moment but it's not quite up to it so would like a hefty pair of bolts holding it instead.

Can anybody point me in the direction of whoever was making these up?

Cheers :D

Cheers! I thought it was Euan, but wasn't completely sure as I know there's a few machinists on here :P

If you just tapped the QR axle adaptors you could still pull the fork legs apart as they just push in by hand. Eaun's is a full axle

In the mean time, the bolt-up QRs worked better for me than the paddle types do.  You lose the QR functionality for obvious reasons, but they do tend to hold in place better.

@Mark W I've snapped a couple of those. I put it down to the twisting forces across it's long length, rather than pulling forces from the QR cam.
