Garage bike storage solution.

Recommended Posts

Moving into a new house soon and will need to sort some storage out for the bikes.

Main issue is the variety of bikes.
- Inspired Arcade

- 27.5” Hardtail

- Roadie

- Retro Specialized MTB

- Wife’s 24” MTB

Been looking at the steady rack, but we are looking at over $300 for everything.

Has anyone used them?

Or any other good storage solutions?

I did something kinda like that in a really cheap, basic way... Bought something like these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TooTaci-Bicycle-Storage-Utility-Hangers/dp/B07GTGF6KV/ref=sr_1_63?dchild=1&keywords=garage+hook&qid=1585082940&sr=8-63

And then screwed them into the rafters in the garage fairly close to the wall and hung the bike front rims from them so I could have my Echo 20", Inspired 24" and road bike above with the BMX, jump bike, mountain bike and Mrs' MTB underneath on the floor. Also used a few more to hang the boys' BMXs and trials bikes. Worked pretty well to be honest and didn't cost $300 ;).

Same as Dave above, but I put them in the wall and it seemed to work Ok. They were £1 each when I did it too, so it was a lot cheaper than that!

Not as slick, but certainly did the job.

Yeah I thought about something like that. There is a room above it so doesn’t have any rafters, but might be able to screw into the joists.

I had something like this in my old house, but they were awkward and only fit my roadie well.

I could maybe build something similar out of wood and attach it to the wall. Space to fit each bike.
