9 posts in this topic

I think this is my ideal solution for trials bikes.. Will post updates if I find any flaws with it ^_^

I applaud his enginuity but Tannus came up with a solution for use outside the tube that looks a bit less faff. I'd be interested to see how it works for trials though, might be too rigid.

From my personal experience and some feedback I've read on Tannus Armour:
The problem with inserts outside of the tube is that the foam gets squished into a very thin layer over time and ends up providing close to no protection. And Tannus Armor is a lot heavier than a DIY insert.

Fair point. I do run a tubeless insert on the mtb and it's made a world of difference, I guess if you're popping tubes every other day this would be worth a try. I'm tempted just for hell of it to see what it's like!

This is truly deserving of the word 'hack'.

It's amazing that it holds air, but since it does, it's a pretty cool idea.

I’ve watched it twice and don’t understand what you’ve done.

I don’t understand what you’ve done and why you’ve done it... and I’ve now watched it three times.

You seem to have cut a tube apart and stuck patches inside it. How, I don’t understand?!?

I put a foam insert inside the tube to prevent snakebites. Like the ones you put in tubeless wheels.
