The new Monty 221 PRO will be in the UK in time for Christmas. We're taking orders now, and at £673.76 for the rim brake model, or £714.14 for the disc brake model they're not badly priced.

The new 2005 aluminium framed Alp is also up for Christmas orders at £350.43, and the 2005 Alp Magura at £492.25.

Hasn't actually arrived yet, so can only go on info provided by Monty ...

Frame: 7005 Alu T6 Shock absorbing frame

Forks: 6061 Alu

Head set: 1/18 A

Hubs: Alu

Cranks: Alu 158mm Front freewheel 18T

Front brake: HS33 or Louise

Rear brake: HS33

Wheels: 20" front, 19" rear

Bash: Monty bash, 6082 T6 Alu, saw shaped

Whats the difference to this and the 04 alloy 1 which is at £1000 ?

Frame would seem to be different, more like the new Alp? Different geometry? Looks like it could take a seatpost? Not a lot of information on it yet, not even on the Monty website!

Will tell you more when it arrives!

So how come the old 221 frame cost £530, and now the full bike costs just over £100 more? Seems a little strange :wub: There've been cuts in the frame somewhere? Or is this a new bike and Monty have given it an established name to help it sell well... Either way, thanks for the info (Y)

If you look its not exactly a 221(Ti) shape, its more an x-alp shape.
