ThYp
Hi EveryoneI'm ThYp, I'm 16 years old, I'm from Belgium and I'm new to this forum and to trials... I've already watched and read lots of (instruction)video's and articles about trials.I started trial about 3 weeks ago, I'm practicing and learing everyday more...I can do some basic things like standtrack couple of minutes, rocking, backhop about 7 times, wheeling...Now, my bike I a basic cheap mountainbike and it's crap (aspecialy the brakes) I would like to buy a new one, (This is not a request for a 2nd hand bike or so) I just would like some advice...I got already contacted my local dealer for this bikeWhat do you guys advice, suggest me? Is this a good bike to get started? I definatly would like a stock bike...I also got some other questions like:- I heard about rear disk brakes, and V's at the front? - Suspension vs Rigid fork?- Single Gear, Multiple Gears?Thx already for reading Grtzz ThYpPS: Sorry for my poor english... Rigid forks dont get suspension it just doesnt work with trials, if you are going to get a 20'' bike it will come with single gear, dont change it however if you get a 24/26'' frame there is a chance they will come with gears if it is a make such as da bomb, mission ect. I would recommend as a starters bike a onza t-pro with hydrolic brakes, however the new onza's dont have hydrolics, just look around hope this helps ben
montyrider07
Bike looks nice, but doesnt really look like my ideal trials bike. Couldnt see myself riding something like that, I would imagine it would make things alot harder for you.
tom 20
Yes i do prefer maggys ( maguras) but a very well set-up v-brake such as a avid will work equally as well as a maggy.Try before you buy
ThYp
Thx for the quick reply's already, really great! @montyrider07: Why wouldn't you see yourself riding that bike and why would it be hard for me riding that bike?Another question: Do you guys have any experiance with buying ur bike or materials online f.e. at thiswebsite?I'm kinda confused by all the kinds of combinations. I see trialbikes with suspension, without suspension, diskbrakes at front and at rear, maguras at front and disks on the rear:S ...Or is it just something you just have to find out yourself?Grtzz ThYp

omgnoseat
Hello there, from Holland here so I could say that we're neighbours About the different brakes now: It's all personal preferance, some like the feel of rim brakes, some the silence from disc brakes etc.The performance of all the brakes is very close to each other if set up correctly. Now another point, what are you planning to ride 20'' (mod) or 26'' (stock)? They have a completly different feel and i can't really describe the differences, but i'm sure one else would like to point that out for you.New bikes are very expensive, so i suggest that you start with a second hand bike. And since i'm such a nice guy I already did a search for you:- very cheap 20'' monty, a decent starter bike: http://www.kapaza.be/Fietsen_en_accessoire...trialfiets.html- A better 20'' koxx bike than the monty, but also more expensive:http://www.kapaza.be/Fietsen_en_accessoire...velboss_20.html- A very(!) good 26'' koxx bike, this really is cheap for such a good bike:http://www.kapaza.be/Fietsen_en_accessoire...1_jaar_oud.htmlI have no idea how close you live to holland, but there is an biketrial event at 6 may in Tilburg, more info:http://www.rideactive.nl/EVENTS/content/fu...rialtilburg.htmA rare chance to get to know more about biketrials, i really sugest to go here and see whats its like, you don't oftenget the chance for something like thisPhew that took me long to write:Pfeel free to add me on msn for more questions or just to have a chat martino_van_kordelaar[at]hotmai.com[at]=@, replaced to prevent spambots sending me shit
