BenLeacock™
hello i my name is paul and i have been intresed in trails riding for about a year now, but never had any idea how to do it. i was just wondering can any one give me adivce on how to adapt my dirt jump bike into a trails bikehey erm for a start strong brakes, magura hs33's are a good start. Rigid forks and with that you should be able to ride trials. Try going singlespeed as well. You may be better gettin a more trials specific bike. Maybe a onza zoot which is 24'' or maybe a 26''. Hope ive helped Ben

BenLeacock™
thanks alot las u have, so am i alright to ride with discs though, and do think a dual ply rear tyre is neededDisks are fine.. the only problem is the rear disk is put under a hell of alot of strain and liable to damage and ends up costin alot. A rear tyre is needed yes and a good tube as well. You need to make sure your disks are strong though Ben
PaulEvo
cheers lad, so how much does a good back wheel cost and what type of tred should the tyre have ?
BenLeacock™
cheers lad, so how much does a good back wheel cost and what type of tred should the tyre have ?If your riding 26'' wheels you should go for a sticky downhill tyre. In the long run it maybe cheaper for you to buy a complete bike then upgrade your dirt jumper. Maybe you should just put rigid forks learn the basics backhops ect. Then try a couple of bikes in different sizes 20'' 26'' and see which one you prefer Ben

Simpson
tar Lad ano thats y i just want 2 use me old bike for now to see if i can acctually do trials,Anyone can do trials, initially it does take a lot of time and effort but the basics are usually the hardest and once you can get them done you'll improve rapidly!
