  1. Started riding last week I'm 53, I must be the oldest newbie. Although ride / race SS MTB
  2. Oh that's what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for the links. That'll save hours of messing about this evening. Thanks again.
  3. Can I ask some advice. I got my first used trial bike today. Put it together but I can't get the rear wheel to stay put, it's difficult to get the chain tight - ish without the rear brake binding on the drive side. What am I doing wrong. How do I fit the snail cams. Are they suppose to rest against the allen bolt (by the drop outs) from underneath? Echo team 20" with Onza snail cams, magura rear brake. It's got 20 X 2" front 20 X 2.5" rear is there a reason or can I fit a rear 2" tyre? Cheers
  4. Right well I bought Ant's Echo. Let the carnage commence..............
  5. I rode the 20" Koxx that was for sale recently and that sorted felt so wrong it was right. I live near St Andrews Park. The plan is to practice when I haven't time to get to Ashton Court. There's a nice wall running around it. What's the difference between long and short frames (apart from the length)?
  6. Too old. 5'7" I ride SS MTB, 2nd at Bikefest a few weeks back (Old Gits Race). Fixed on the road. I'm normally a Cheesy Rider. So far been offered Onza, Echo, KO and now a Monty
  7. Yep, I agree used is the way to go. Suggestions?
  8. Hi I'm totally new to this, but fancy having a go. What would be a good bike to start with. Ideally 20" wheels, v brake. It's for over in the park, when I haven't got enough time to ride the MTB over to trails and ride. Happy to pay OK money and work on the principle I can flog it if it's not for me or dead cheap and ride it 'til it drops. Can do work, but I'm not keen on buying too many bits. Cheers Pete
