  1. This thread makes me miss OTN even more, most of the retarded f**king posts and their authors wouldn't exist or would at least keep their useless ill informed opinions to themselves.

I'll just keep checking observedtrials.net until it works again.... or just never visit another trials bike forum again.

    p.s. 2+2 = 37

    f**k YOU IT DOES!

  2. Wait about 3 weeks until plenty of ali dust from your rim has accumulated.

'course your brake will be poo then.

Seriously, find any loose/wobbly bits and pieces in and around the arms and tighten up/grease/use cable ties creatively to get rid of it all, should then be pretty silent.

Not sure why you want it like that though. My heatsinks always seem to be at their best when they're obnoxiously loud.

EDIT: oh and incidentally, tightening up the canti bolts does NOT make your brake any better. It eliminates any play, granted, but a little play is actually BETTER for the brake. One of the reasons that maggies are so good is that there is a bit of play in the pad assembly, which means that it always hits the rim square, even if the brake is just slightly misaligned. Same goes for Vs; allow a small amount of play and the pads will always be square onto the rim when most of the power is applied (as long as your pads aren't MILES out of line).

im sorry im going to have to completely dissagree with you here on the whole "play will make your brakes better"

Maguras would be so much better if they DIDN'T have any play in them! Any movement/play (other than the pistons or arms pushing the pads towards that rim) in your brakes is inneficient! and makes your brakes less powerful AND noisy! Which is why IMO Ultimate brakes = the best brakes ever when setup well, they have no play in them and i run my pads with no spacers in them so 1. the arms dont sick out as much. 2. it makes the brake even more solid!

Maguras a good when setup well but are generally f**king noisy which doesnt mean "ooo my brake is noisy, its working well!" It means "im making noise because im inneficient and magura cant be f**ked improving my design"

thanks for the replies....would using a smooth rim make a difference ?

A smooth rim would be even louder! Unfortunately your not really gonna be able to get rid of noise while using a polyurethane type of pad, unless you run a super harsh grind... which in turn will wear your pads down to the backing in a few minutes... If you had forks that have the canti posts on the other side of the fork (point towards your frame) i think it would be a lot quieter because the canti posts would want to flex outwards as much...

Are you running a good booster?

    Peace

  3. I think they are just getting kenny to break all of those new pro models that koxx couldnt sell.... then once he has smashed em all they will get onto making a more practical strong comp frame... or something..

Of course the owner is going to treat their son better than the rest! But even so, if they dont treat their BEST rider very well... then he isnt a very good business man.

Kenny will get what he wants... if he doesnt, im sure he will do something similar to what Caisso had done.

    Peace

p.s. 1 frame every 3 weeks  machine!

  4. Tried both of the above suggestions to no avail.

I mean, I can get it to spring back quicker by cranking the rear spring tension, but it feels WAY to hard to pull then (way harder than it should be anyway), so something's wrong somewhere along the line, and the cable is pretty new so I doubt it's that. I cleaned it out and whacked some grease down it anyway.

Wondering if it's noodle related? I get the feeling from looking at it that I may have the rear noodle on t' front and vice versa (am I right in thinking that the rear is supposed to be a slightly different angle to the front? which is which?)

Years ago I knew all this stuff :\

you have most likely put a kink in your inner cable.... happens when you crash or bail...

I run, Ultimate lever and calliper, nokon housing and CRV/Spanish fly (i lost one of my crv pads >_< )

I need to change the cable and give it a re lube.... but i will never run maggies ever again.... they suck major dick.

I know for most of you this isnt an issue.. but one of the major reasons i run vees also, is the fact that they are silent.... well they way i set up up... I HATE having a noisy bike! Feel so much smoother with my vees :shifty:

  5. WTF?!?! Front to back post boxes!!!:blink::o

    Its called a Hoo-Haa (pronounced who-ha) ;)

can anyone tell me what the music was? sounded a little aphex twin ish..... but i dont think it was.

    Peace

  6. Check out the latest vid Terrrirrrigall. This video was filmed over 2 days up at Terrigal and Gosford - an hour or 2 north of Sydney. I used my relatively new Canon MVX3i on a small pocket tripod for most of the footage. Minor editing was done using Adobe Premiere pro and compression in Windows movie maker.

Gosford is full of junkies but Terrigal is a pretty remarkable spot, definately one of the best accessible spots we've found around Sydney. There are a lot of natural kickers with good flat run ups aswelll as nice technical lines.

Riders: Peace McCormack, Adam Kelly, Chris Quain and Simon Betteridge (myself).

    Duration: 4:13min

    Size: 44.8Mb

    Music: Lacuna Coil - Humane

  9. Eyyy wayne! Yeah you gotta hit up some of these spots we have discovered.....feckin awesome! Alexx may even be livin in sydney next year, other wise we would definitely organise something.

Yeah its actually winter at the moment so its not too bad, if its sunny the temp is between 20 & 25celcius and if its overcast, its a little under 20... Summer is VERY hot, but what is great about it is you ride in a pair of boardies and because all these spots are coastal and right next to the beach, you just jump in the drink once you get too hot. I love it.

That stack of mine was so quick it didnt even shock me, i was just pissed that i f**ked up haha.

    Thanks for the comments guys.

    Peace
