  1. I haven't been riding for the past 1.5 years due to my blue 2009 fourplay being stolen, and currently serving in the military. Here is my new 2011 fourplay, full-build from TartyBikes. I must say the customer service from TartyBikes is superb, and a great thanks for the fast assembly and shipping! Photos are courtesy of TartyBikes. The bike has already arrived in my country, but will only be delivered tomorrow. I'm really excited and looking forward to riding it!

A brief description of the specs:

    - 2011 fourplay frame and team fork

    - Inspired Pro cnc rims (I'm still curious as to how the cnc sidewalls are like, comparable to a fairly light grind? I've always been running on a smooth rim)

    - Hope Pro 2 Evo Trials (fortunate to have grabbed the last piece in team green edition)

    - Wheels in alternating red and green nipples

    - Hope Tech Trial and Magura HS33 brakes, with Heatsink pads

    - Trialtech high rise bar, with Hope 25deg x 70mm stem

  2. Hi, may I know how are the cnc sidewalls of inspired pro rim for the rear holding up? Does it wear off like a grind?

How is the texture of the sidewall like, is it cnc'ed with fine machining grooves? (like those really fine lines we see on cnc'ed products like hope stem, etc)

And is it similar/comparable to a fairly light grind? Or does it feel like a smooth rim?

  3. I was using the Bucky helmet 3 years back. Anyway, while riding at the skatepark, I somehow front-flipped over and had the bike hit my head. It was a steel street bike then, and I only felt a tap on my head. Goes to show the helmet is actually quite safe to use. :)

  4. how tight are you doing the top cap bolt up? it only needs to pinched not forced tight..

Well over here at my side, we all tight it like tightening your stem bolts? I've been doing it on my Echo fork previously and it was running fine.

I did "pinch tight" it but the headset would be loose. :S

What forks, headset and frame are we talking about here?

It's a very old Echo fork, Inspired frame, and a Diatech headset. Both frame and headset were bought in May this year.

That fork doesn't matter, it's in the trash now. I just hope that it didn't do any damage or something. My new fork would be arriving in a few days, and that got me worried. :(

This happened to me. I'd forgotten to put in a piece of the headset. Make sure it's all in, and in the right order!

Hmm, i just checked, I got every part.

Hope this isn't a silly question, does the metal seal cover, actually have a rubber seal lining on the inside? Cos mine doesn't and perhaps it could be the cause of it?

  5. Hi guys!

Recently I borrowed a fork from my friend, and after fitting it onto my bike, the headset seems to be "jammed", I had to use a good amount of force to turn the bar. That obviously has to be the bearing problem right? I removed the fork and both the top and bottom headsets bearings are spinning smoothly when I used my fingers to spin them. So if it's not the bearings... then it means the problem lies in the fork steerer tube? Could it be bent a bit, causing the bearing to "seize"? >_<

I was also wondering if it would cause any damage to the headset itself? I rode for about 5 minutes, mostly doing pedal kicks, without adding much stress to the headtube/fork.

  6. I would say the inspired is still the best, in terms of looks.

I'm not a fan of the cnc'ed yoke, as well as the downtube - are they trying to make it stiffer with that odd cross-section shape?

The inspired is smooth all round, everything looks right. But for the Echo and Adamant 24", hmm, i feel that it's like creating a 24" frame for the sake of creating one...
