James Butcher contacted me telling me to re-watch this gem to get some inspiration back...feels like its worked. Couldnt ride with a better bunch of chaps. Winter street rides needed

awesome watch! Love the OD films
-
Love to watch Abel ride, he is the Gilles of mod in my opinion

One of the best videos of a top class trials rider i have ever seen...pure genius on a bike
-
He is so far ahead of the field its almost boring to watch him effortlessly cruise through these sections....i much prefer to see him training on obstacles that really push his power and ability. If trials was a bigger sport he would be a huge star...aka Micheal Scheumacer winning everything! Respect

Thanks for uploading, always good to see the top boys in action
-
The Green bike and silver/blue bike riders are so powerful! Pair of gym bunnies! Mike Steidley is a bit 'leave it' in comparison but i really enjoyed the vid
-
Such a nice bike to ride....shrunken 26" set up is my preference. Thanks to Tartybikes for the support, Radicalbikes for the venue and Joe for the media
Looking back i realise i need to vary my riding...gap to front...gap to rear..gap to........

very impressive lads

Currently running a fat albert on my Karbra and find it really good in the dry. Gives fantastic bounce and grips well but in the wet especially on natural its awful as i experienced first hand at the National....You have to weigh up your options because of the limited tyres out there that suit a rear wheel. If only Koxx made a 24" bike all our problems would be answered

there saturday morning

Oh my god i feel like i have been beaten up! Stacking it down a pile of rocks isnt advisable once you hit 25.
The mud was a bit of a pain but the sections were set out very well....Overall a good start to the season
Big thanks to observers and organisers for a well run event. Time to get some sort of fitness training in before Blackpool, cant wait
Very nice of you to say so Ali but i really didnt ride very well!

to answer a few questions; firstly im a short ass at 5,5" which made perfect sense to try the 24" as i could never get on with a stock. After around 5 months on the kabra i can honestly say i can go bigger on everything....the main improvement have been gaps but i have increased my sidehop by an inch or so compared to my mod.
I run 160mm mod cranks and find them perfect for fitting in full pedal strokes on close run ups where others only manage a half.
Lastly the tapping a 24 issue! i can sympathise with you as i also struggle to tap mine, around 45" vertical wall is somewhere near my comfortable limit but find pedalling to rear without the tap can be done higher! Just a strange feeling if you are used to touching the front. My suggestion.....pedal to front....much more street cred haha

A massive thank you to all of the grafters, Adam and the Tarty boys work their balls off all weekend and get zero time to ride which must be a shame seeing as thats the best bit, the whole Mitchell family worked for weeks leading up to this making sure we all had some new things to ride/electricity in the field and all the other guys such as observers of the free trial all did an amazing job.
My thoughts on the weekend were that it was a brilliant one. Riding with so many different riders and getting to watch how the best riders in the world practice is my favourite part. There aren't many sports that you can hang out with the world champ and fire water in his face.
Free trial was a great idea, fun, taxing and short enough that nobody got bored or fed up. Big thumbs up
See you next year
