I have recently grinded my rim and I would class it as not being a light grind lol. I did this due to many slips and constant bum ache, but to cut to the chase: There has been many debates on what pads to get for a grind (hard or soft compound). currently have the standard magura pads (red) and will be needing some new ones soon. I hear the soft compound pads wear out quickly on a grind and this is understandable as it acts like a rubber, although they do grip well. Alot of my friends think that hard compound pads will last longer, but i disagree. If a hard compound pad were to catch sharply on the grind, rather than flex, would it break away/chip off? Any comments would be helpful and feel free to tell me what you are running! I might aswell add will a brake booster make much difference on braking power and hold? Cheers, Jon.
