okey doke iv sussed what it is!! i have no idea how this has but basically the teeth around the inside of the hub shell have started coming away (not individualy, but the whole strip) so like a quater of the circle of teeth are pushed in towards the hubbody (looks like a flat spot on a rim when i spin it) its only suttle hense why it took so long for me to figure it out lol
so that bit thats further in is rubbing/catching on the hub body ewwwwwww
the thing is i bought the hub second hand... so will i still get a replacement if i send it? or is guna be cheaper just to buy a new hubshell of the forum?
Check u've got a 2mm spacer on the axel just before the frehub body goes on. if its missing, it will appear fine and work fine out of the frame but when you tighten it up. the freehub body gets crushed in to the ratchet ring.
if you see what i mean.
you might have done this and mash the ratchet ring like you said above^^??
just a thought

kool, you just hacksawed the booster off and cleaned it up then drilled it ? looks good
-
I'd strip it and see whats what next, if the axle has snapped, you can easily send it back to hope and they'll probably send out a new one on warrenty. Sending the axle alone will save you having to debuild the wheel.
I'd say it sounds like a snapped axle, but you need to strip it first to see what's wrong.
yep we send all send all broken hope products straight back to them. they usally replace all unfixable bits. Brill guys at hope
or ring them ur self!

I just bought a new frame and thought I'd ask a few opinions...
I'm going to be running an hs33 on the back, but the frame doesn't look too beefy (see picture). I prefer the way a brake feels without a booster, but if it's going to mean too much flex on the seatstays it would probably be worth running one to improve the life of the frame?
Nice looking frame, hasn't got an intergrated booster so maybe a 2 bolt booster would be nice?

agreed
that was beast!! i reckon a slice of luck was needed for that one
-
when you started to ride trials did you get back pains/aches in the lower back?
because after i have been out for a ride it Kane's, especially the morning after.
do these subside?
(change of subject, whats your favorite ale?)
yeah still a bad back the next day after riding! i just cope with it and take it easy for the next day
as for the other question, golden glory is moist, or the classic hobgoblin

Thanks for the advice fellas. I chose the zoo forks. Because they were heavier my mind made the assumption this probably equated to more strength than the Viz!. Probably wrong though...
Echo Hifi's bomb proof, haven't heard of anyone breaking them yet.
Anyone?

Help me my bb mounts have crossed on the non drive side and i dont know how to get them straight again.
Is there any way of straightening them.
Please help me???.
If most of the threads are still intact then take it to your local cycle shop and they should have the taps for the job! £10 £15 i reckon?

Hey. So i'm getting a new bike very soon (T-Rex) and I was wondering if it was really worth going for the T-Rex over the T-Raptor because of the high BB. Any tips or advice?
T-rex. looooovvvvvely

1st question: I have some fsa v drive extreme cranks that have removable pedal inserts, i presume these are the same thread size as the tensile pedal inserts?
2nd question: Is there a special 4 pronged tool to get these off? like a miniature freewheel tool? ive been trying all the methods so far to remove them with no avail.
blow torch
hammer and centre punch
lubed it etc
btw pretty sure tensile have a 2 holes on there inserts.

me, fyfe and eddie will be out about 12 i think, couple of others too
drop ur number before you head out and we'll meet up

any chance of the top cap hitting the steer tube? so not tightening up right?
maybe cutting a little more off the steerer or adding another couple of mm spacing.
-
dude how did u attach the coat hanger guide to the hack saw blades ?
-
ROFL, you'd have more chance of snapping a DOB than that. Yea, just keep that, its the nicest looking thing I've seen, why would you downgrade to a DOB from that?
don't swap it for a DOB!! just ride it and be careful!
-
Cheers for the replies. I was just wondering because I'm buying a bike that has a front V-brake. I'll probably keep the V-brake until the pads are gone so just kind of thinking ahead!
Cheers Adam. If you still have that set of Evo mounts in a couple o weeks I'll probably get them from you. How much you looking for them?
Steve
i reckon a Vee on the front would def feel nicer than a maggie, then get a bb7 ha

O.K., I have a U-brake on one of my bikes, but no matter how hard I pull the lever, it dosn't lock, and thats pretty bad for hopping. Any suggestions? Tar? hairspray?
Thanks, Brad
I can't believe u even considered using a U brake for trials!! mad men

So i got my juicy 7 last monday and have ridden everyday since then and the brake still sucked.
Then i decided to pour water all over it and the brake suddenly started to be freakin awsome. But after about 10 minutes its power starts to fade and it loses hold, also when its wet it makes a horrible screetch.
So basically, will the brake eventually get to the point where i dont need to keep pouring water on it to keep power and will it quiet down a little??
Thanks
Ian
i got BB7, it did the same for a few miles as it bed in. pretty powerful now thou
