  1. Had a quick search, but couldn't find anything on here.

Does anyone have or can recommend a good insurance provider? E.g...one who will not try wriggle out of everything etc, which does good cover.

As not really looking forward to the day when I come out of work and my bike is not there...

    Cheers

  2. I may get slated for this....but....

Think I may possibly be going for an R26 F1....Got a few good prices.

If not, the trophy, simply because i only want to have the car for around a year...maybe abit more, and i know they will hold the majority of the money.

(but i've always had a soft-spot for the megane)

  3. After reading all of that...it's just made me want to get the bus!

After some helpful advice, i feel i should give more of a detailed in-sight into what i actually need/want from a car....

-I live about 2 miles away from my work....so long commutes are not an issue

-As i've said, I dont particularly want and old car, simply due to the fact they require more maintenance & time spent on them (which i do not have alot of)...although an Intergrale would do nicely :P

-I dont want a car to show off like a poser in,thats not me (so that rules the shitty boxsters out), I just want a new/clean looking/smart car...but that has some reasonable performance to go with it.

-Basically, I just want it for them times when im driving between places and can make them abit more fun, but also if i want to go out for a drive, ive got something that i know is not going to be a slouch/bore!

-The idea of a M3/porka/bugatti veyron is stupid, because sod paying the running costs/insurance for them at age of 20.

i've decided to cap my spending at £10,000 now..maybe £11,000 if its really worth it.

always had a soft spot for clio trophy's though.....and i respect cars such as the Honda DC5...but without meaning to sound racist...(where i live, I would look like a take-away delivery man)

Edit: now looking at Type R....

  4. Yep, 20 as said..

Job..I have 2...and semi-pro rugby player..so paid for that too..

In answer to the insurance question...

An R32/new S3...would cost me £1218 per year...and i havnt dared even ask for something such as a subaru...just because i thought group 20 would be just a rediculous amount!

I think i'm going to have to totally re-look at everything now. I want to stay away from the old looking cars though, because they really just dont do it for me. I'm sure the performance would, but looks wise..i'm left feeling a little flaccid!

  5. What do you want this car for ? And I/we will advise you on what he best car for you is. But I certainly wouldn't buy any of those at 16K under any circumstances.

I live near Yorkshire dales and on the moors....so B road heaven! want something thats going to be able to handle every corner as best as something can, but also have the straight line speed.

  6. To cut a long story short....

Buying a new car within 3 weeks. Options so far:

    • NEW VW R32 (DSG)
    • MEGANE R26 F1
    • CLIO TROPHY
    • FOCUS ST

I have been torn between these 4 cars for MONTHS! read hundreds of reviews...and still cannot decide. I am swaying towards the R32 more than the others.

I have £16k to play with....Would just like to know if anybody has one, or knows of...and general opinions (pro's and cons).

    cheers!

  7. I got it summer 2006.... was in and out of hospital for long periods until just after xmas. i then cudnt do any exercise until this summer. Then i got it again and was in hospital this september, and i'm still feeling it. Makes me just suddenly shattered and fall asleep within 5 minutes at random times, or just like death. makes me get right ill with other stuff too :(

  8. But you've f**ked up and forged a real licence..which are how much? Like 40 quid

What happens if you ever had to show it to the police...?!

how have you messed it up? the number just peels off.

and yeh, that is a problem when u get pulled. but its just a quick swipe off with the finger when you hand it over. not hard.

  9. Dunno about that, as you could probably see it when you tilt the card in the light.

well it never failed. ye, if you;re looking for it, of course it would.

a way of getting around it is having it behind a plastic window in your wallet

and smear pritt-stick on the iniside and rub, making the window appear dirty.cloudy. therefore not so noticeable when they look at it.
