  1. Does anybody else have Osgood-Schlatter Disease in their knees, or is it just me?

My lad had it, you'll grow out of it.

Last Thurs I had a fall down some steps onto some concreet. I've ended up with a grade 3 collar/ shoulder bone separation, torn back and shoulder muscles and a black eye....... fun eh

  2. dont think so mate.. if anything ill ride elite next time round... and you dont know me.. and i suggest you dont comment on my level or experience of riding :)

skill had nothing to do with it.. it was pure fitness

i might aswell of got my xc bike out and done it... was a complete joke..

worste trials ive ever attended in the years

    fin

    wtf

things never change..... you went away... you're supposed to come back older and more mature, lmfao welcome back aust.....like we missed you hehe

now that's what i call arm pump

  3. In the begining everything was good. There were no volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes etc. It was only untill man sinned that these things started to happen, all natural disasters, diseases etc are all punishment for our sin. God didnt originaly design it with the intent of these things.

you can't quote that without backing it up.

you to explain your thoughts and beliefs much more if ever you're going to get anyone to listen to you.

  4. I wasn't referring to you, or anyone specific on here...

faith is for those who believe special. we can't knock them. so long as they live their life's Christ like...........if they do that they'll do well.

  5. I dont try to preach, Im just informing people that there is truth in the bible because a lot of people are un educated about Christianity. But it aslo says "Go forth and spread the word" I dont tell people what to do, I just tell them the truth

    that's a bold statement!

  6. I'm sorry if I've got a bit aggressive I've just been caught up in the moment.

I do understand where you are coming from with the "tell people what they want to hear" thing. But I'm not a fan of the brainwashing that goes on in churches etc.

my role aint to tel people anything, i can only tell people what i know. see previous post.

  7. You've got no interest because you've got no point. Its plain and simple.

You might believe what you've been taught but you've obviously been taught wrong.

If you were born in Afghanistan you'd believe in Allah.

you have no faith! some people have. don't knock them because of what they believe. not all people need proof, some just rely on hope.

  8. to tired to read the last few posts. i will tommorrow

my point is, it's down to what people believe. let them. don't knock it. when some one's about to die, if they belieive let them. i can see from all sides, some i think might be true, all be it theory, some i think might be true from faith. let it be, let it be, let it be! let people believe what they want to, it'll never hurt you

  9. I've watched this thread and read all the posts. Dave you and I have locked horns many times over trials stuff, but I feel the need to post, and hope you'll see it as a positive to all that's being said.

There are 2 issues here. 1. Is the theory of evolution 2. Is religion.

    1. Whatever my views are on this, it is and always will be a theory!

    2. Religion is belief/faith. My personal experience of faith was my sister. She died in December 2006. She and my mom had/have a profound belief in God. She died knowing (in her own mind) that she was going to be with the Lord. She never walked on this earth as she was severely disabled, but she always dreamed 1 day she would. As I sat with her at her beside, 48hours before she died my last words to her before she slipped into unconsciousness were "be anxious for nothing", those are words written in book you see as fiction. She took comfort from them, she slipped into a deep sleep later and past away 2 days later. She was 33.

When I said those words to her, I was well aware of what I was saying, my mom burst into tears, thinking her son was aware of greater things, where as in fact I was saying the things people needed to hear.

Sorry about all this stuff its well heavy.

But you can’t knock what people believe. Let them believe. If you don’t, fare enough

    To sum up.

    Evolution = theory

    religion = faith

    Don’t knock either, I won't

    Oh

    ps

If people believe in God, the best way to make other people believe is not to preach, but to live a life that makes people say, wow who's that guy? He is such a nice bloke..... Oh yes he's a Christian!

Live the life, if you're one, don't bring it to a forum and argue.

  10. SCOTTISH MUCKERS.............

    YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU!!!!!!

Just getting our heads round what we're going to give you this year.

I just want to bring to your attention again that any body who helps to observe gets a weekend pass!!!! so if you were think of going, observe on both days and get in buck she.

I've got the misses coming with me this year for the 1st time, so any local people got any suggestions where I can get rid of her to for 4 days would be much appreciated.

    Not long to go now

Fort William high street here we come!!!!!!!!!!

  11. First of all I'm not trying to stir any s**t, I've had contact from a few people thinking it was something to with me, all I was trying to do was clarify the situation.

What's led to the confusion is this that's on the ukbiketrial web site,

The 3rd and final round at Hook Woods, Surrey on 21st September will be incorporating the final round of the European Cup. Riders who hold a current BIU licence will qualify for championship points in both the British and European Competition, however riders without a BIU licence are only eligible for British Championship points.

That statement clearly states that riders can gain points from both competitions which is impossible for those british ranked seeded riders who compete at the euro's at their world ranking, eg Sherrdan, Porter, Astbury, Rankin to name but a few.

  12. Dave, so just to clarify

"British Championship riders will ride their normal British Championdhip category. The event will consist of two laps of ten sections. Punch cards will be used for marking rider’s scores. Results and awards will be presented on the day.

Riders who want to be classified in the European Cup results must also have a 2008 BIU BikeTrial licence."

This means James can't enter both?

  13. Jesus crist, keep your knickers on :S.

He said well done to all the UK riders with an extra special well done to Jack?? What are you angry about?

    Full results are here: http://www.wbc2008.jp/eng/modules/news/art....php?storyid=20

Not that you haven't already seen them.

Thanks Phil, I actually hadn't seen them.

    Couple of quick questions though

Where would Jack have come had he not been disqualified and which Brits actaully rode because the original entry list is nothing like the results. Oh and Barry how are you going to resolve the issue of the last round of the Brits/Europs where the likes of James Sherridan is UK elite but not world?

  14. didn't get to go to blackpool so i'm going to make up for it with Fort William!. Sounds as they blackpool was fun but waynes kinda right about the flags in the trials. anyone know why tape isn't used like in other trials i have seen. (Y)

    Nick

It's quite simple, all the trials we set out we use tape, but at Blackpool the council wont allow us to drill into the rocks at all, so therefore it's impossible to tape, we tried with a sticky hazard tape but it wasn't that good, and what bits we did put in to try and make things more difficult were removed between us putting out that starts and ends (finished at 10.15am) and the start of the trial (10.30am). People eh!

While I'm on, just briefly can say thanks to everyone who helped, you know who you all are, it was great weekend made even better by the spirit of riders. Big thanks to Dave for taking over the observing on section 3 when i had to pop off for a while.
