You need to pop to your local second hand store get a VHS player for £10-20 then find someone with a copy of Reed Merschats Evolve and then sit back a realise
that your whole life is wrong and this is the only video about trials ever made that matters.
As for modern stuff Get 1 or 2 by nick G. Or to save you some money have a gander at this: which is old and was going to released on dvd but made as a internet download instead:

That would be awesome, I had to decide between moving abroad or back to Cornwall. I've chosen Cornwall though!

Have you tried MPEG Streamclip? I use this application on my mac when transcoding my footage, and I think it is an excellent tool, not sure how it will work on a pc, but you can give it a go: http://www.squared5.com/
This is also great.

one of the best free converters about is miro video converter, try that and convert your files to MP4.
