  1. ok car genius' or is that genii? anyway, having a bit of trouble with my car, 56 plate volvo c30, 2.0d, 68,000 miles.

basically put clutch pedal down at junction, pedal vibrated and there was a rattling sound, in middle of town so had no choice but to carry on, pulled off, clutch slipped when turbo kicked in then grabbed, did this once today, and has been fine since, biting point is very high, the car will pull off in 3rd with the clutch being let out normally, also the car will roll down a mildly steep hill in 6th gear, only just trying to turn over? does this sound like i need a new clutch? also if this is the case i guess its worth putting a new dual mass flywheel in at the same time? can get LUK full kit for 350, what sort of price should i be paying for fitting? i know its quite a big job and not gonna come cheap, also i got the car 11 months ago from a volvo dealer with a years warranty, should i be speaking to them requesting a contribution or am i just going to have to suck it up myself?

Alot of questions in there, so any help is much apprciated, loz

  2. You need to fill out the number plate transfer form, attach your original MOT, a photocopy of the tax disc and the original log book with your signature in the "current owner" portion in the bottom and date it.

Send off £80 with the paperwork (cheque), a couple of days later when you get the confirmation letter and re-printed MOT you can stick on your new plate and phone your insurance company. A week after that the log book will come through.

    Bingo.

cheers for this, ive just purchase it from the dvla so have already paid the £80, will i be sent a new tax disk when i recieve my documents back? also is there a cross over period in which to change the plates? i work away so cant do it monday-fri so it could possibly be parked on the road with the incorrect registration displayed? cheers

  3. im hoping the mine of information on this forum may be able to help me.

im thinking of puying a private number plate for my car, the buying i can do, stick card numbers in, easy.

what do i have to do to get it on my car, what fees are their, and also what steps are there? cheers

  4. i have a dragon tuning one from my old golf tdi 90 , they were a bit better quality and i believe around 200 quid but looked very similar inside, when it was on it made a fair bit of difference, the car was alot more torquey and pulled for alot longer in each gear, the trip computer said it was doin better mog but i never actually worked it out properly. did occasionally bring on the odd warning light though

  5. are them 500s on stilts? audi looks sweet though :)

in other news, volvo are swapping my c30 due to it being a never ending list of problems, for a 18 month newer, 15k less miles one with twin exhausts and remapped at a cost to me of 1000, score, offered me a straight swap for another one of same age but also the option of this car, so in total ive paid 9500 for a car that was uf for 11000 cant wait to pick it up

  6. i'm sorry if i sound harsh, but you borrowed the money knowing full well you had to pay it back on agreed terms prior to receiving the mooney. just pay the money back, live off beans on toast instead of expensive food, bike to work instead of taking the car, etc. you get my gist. i took out a 5500 loan 2 years ago and have never missed a payment despite being made redundant, off work on sick pay for 3 months. i just focus on paying bills first, then work out how much money i have left afterwards. get it paid back, it will only get worse

  7. Hello Everyone,

    About Trials-UK

On all orders we will notify all customers that there will be a maximum 2-3 working days delivery lead time. So if anyone want to get a bargain and don't mind waiting please visit.

pahahahahahaha, with your reputation i for one wouldn't buy a memorial poppy from you face to face, let alone buy from your site, i'd suggest e-bay with a random name, because no one on here in their right mind would buy from you.

  8. the way i see it is, monster dont actually need to sponsor anyone really as it seems to have become a brand name in clothing. for eg. moster energy hoodies etc. i've just baught(sp) a motorcross bike and it has monster energy graphics. every time i go to a race monster are getting publicity, so not only are they getting free publicity but those grahics were paid for, which in turn a percentage goes to monster for the use of their logo. at most motorcross events theirs always alot of monster hoodie, t-shirts, caps, helmets, riding gear, bike graphics. they are getting ALOT of publicity free and getting paid for it. win win in my eyes

  9. Could just be you got a shit rcd that's faulty and it's properly gone now. Nobody seems to have thought of that

because if it was a shit rcd it wouldn't stay in when the shower circuit is on. it is possible but highly (very very very) highly unlikely.

  10. He will have a megameter (sp) for fault finding.. leave professional jobs to the professionals. Your interference will only hinder him and not mention its very dangerous. Dont think im being funny.. im trying to help you out.

megameter? thats a new one. u mean a multifunction test meter made by megger, many other makes also, fluke etc....

have you put any nails into walls or drilled into anywhere? the rcd is tripping due to a short between either line- earth or neutral- earth.

get a sparky in. should be a nice easy job. 1 hour max.

  11. my dad got pretty into snooker last year, he doesnt play now but spent about 150 on a cue which he now doesnt use, has case and everything. I know a while ago he was thinking of selling it.

wouldu like me to ask him for more details and if he's still up for selling?

  12. Good luck with that, sounds like you could be on to a very interesting job there!

Over the past week I've applied to 5 vacanies for IT support including one for...*sigh*...PC World - but this will be temporary. On top of this I have called/e-mailed/written to over 50 companies in the east midlands - none of which seemed very promising if I'm honest. I've been to the local library for books to brush up on SQL server, Server 2008 and IP/TCP as these seem to be were the jobs are at.

IT vacanies at the minute are very much aimed at managers/programmers; which kinda sucks.

So tomorrow I'll be putting on the suit and spending my Friday and Saturday visiting various sites and handing out CVs.

    Urghhh, f**king work.

at least you're taking a pro active view to finding work as oppsed to the dossers on every benefit going who just expect to be handed a job without putting any effort in at all.

    GOOD LUCK :)

  13. when i was looking for an apprenticeship i sent a cv to all the electrical companies within a 20 mile radius. and also went into the local wholesalers and asked nicely if i could put up an advertisement. They were happy to oblige and actually reccomended me to the company i work for now due to my good manners, and the fact tht i used my initiative. That may be a route for some of you guys.

  14. You must be retarded. They look retarded, and the only reason people want/buy them is that they're too retarded to buy something that every other retard isn't buying.

In fact, this thread is retarded. I bet you're all going to buy those horribly tacky £10 cards that measure up like a piece of A3 paper and have some weak-as-piss message printed inside.

This is why Christmas makes me sick. Either dump her for the festive season, or do what I do and live in a different country.

    mate. f**k OFF.

  15. Look in new members there was a thing about ugg boots going cheap! Lol.
