  1. Talkabout squats...I always atart my workout with squats no matter what day it is!! quads are the biggest muscle in the body so stimulating it kicks out tones of test and adrenalin!!! Just do more and heavier on leg day!!

    Squats amount of reps depends on body type a short person can get away with doing lower reps whereas a person with long legs like me has to pile on the weight and do more reps..

    Also the guy who posted the workout i would change the days you work bi's and back to the next workout to give your arms an extra few days rest since you hit ye triceps.. just thats what i did and it worked much better.. as 48 hours was not eknough recovery time i didnt think... But then again itd doen to personal preference...

    Start slowly and build up i been working out naturally nor for 3 years and in that time gone from a pipe cleaner thin 10st to 14 and a bit stone just takes time and effort and sticking with it as its a lot easier to loose than to gain in the first place...

    And abs and forearms and calfs are different generally as they are in use almost constantly every day so they can be trained hard anytime you feel. i work them every day.

    anyway enough of my half drunken rant hope it helps though!!

  2. fly 1 rep max?!

    list your 1 rep max for squat, deadlift and bench... others are pretty unimportant.

    squats, benchpresses and deadlifts are proven to build you like a f**king tank, forget the isolation stuff, maybe just do a couple exercises but make sure you focus on the building blocks of mass.

  3. You listed all your one rep max's..

    There should be squat and deadlift there somewhere as body will only grow in proportion which means you need to work the whole body not just upper body!!! unless yur a roid freak in which case you can get away with anything..

    A mate of mine has just started working out with me and he is very slim build and wants to put n size and strength and he was curling 10k ok for 3 sets ( i mean he was knackered after but no pain no gain) you should maybe get some smaller increment weight discs if the jump is too big.

    At the nd of the day though nothing will work the same for two people so its all down to experimentation!!!

  4. Eat more!!! it takes me ages to put on weight.... i use cnp promass yum yum 3 of them a dya on top of 4 solid meals should see you gaining weight

    Also drop the number of reps and increse the weight use to 12 10 8 rep principle and add more weight each set..

    You seem to be doing high reps and that will just cut up and define wont build much muscle..

    Low reps big weight compund exercises like squat dead lift bench press etc

    No pain no gain!!!!!!!!

  5. Thanks for the tips guys, I just want to make sure i hit them more than my other muscle groups. I don't want to end up with a huge chest and no shoulders or arms. Because to me that just looks wierd.

    Hey i know what you mean there buddy, my arms are seriously lagging behind my chest, that just blows up but my arms just struggle to grow...

    They lift lots and by no means let me down in strength terms but i worked out that to be in proportion wit ma chest in a bodybuilding sense they would need to be 18.5 inches n that just aint gonna happen.... anyone got any ideas to induce growth in them....

    PS. i have been lifting for about 2 years and do th usual barbell, wide, narrow grip, reverse curls, hammer curls, concentration etc obv not all at once lol

    Right back to eating some steds!!! lol

  6. Look up arnold press..

    Hard to explain but is basicaly a military press but when you come down you rotate your arms 180 degrees and end up with them in front of you palms facing yor face in the end position for a bicep curl... Then you press up whilst rotating your arms so you finish up with dumbells pressed above your head with palms facing forwards...

    Hope that makes sense...... They target the deltoids pretty well

  7. New ratchels and springs cost next to nothing!!!

    I had my ti glide wheel about 3-4 years ago and then i gave it to a mate and he sent it off to hope and they put a new freehub on it for nothing!!!

    They were ace and if i were ever to start riding stock again i would never use any other rear hub except a hope one purely cos they are amazing when it comes to warranty stuff

    Even if you had to pay for new pawls to be fitted cos its not a job you can do yourself as they are pressed in a think i doubt it will cost much though!!

    As i said give them a bell you never know but from the looks of the pictures you put up it looks like the cassette has been digging away nicely at the free hub body, a way around that and to extend the life of that freehub body would be to split the cassette and move the sprocket that you use for riding to a different position when you reassemble it.

    Thats assuming that you would not be requiring the use of more than one gear!!

    PS.. the pics are not great so it is hard to tell if the freehub body is titanium...

    If it is then yes it is definately a ti-glide

  8. That is a hope ti glide!! i used to use one a few years ago,

    Good hub except the titaminum is soft and dies much easier than the steel freehub version they did later aka hope sport

    The ti glide was the xc equivalent of the DH hope big un hub

    nice hub all in all though with decent engagement which i believe was a 3 ratchet a pawl system like the hope xc, give hope a ring though as they are always such fantastic help if you ever need anything.

  9. Went snowboarding for the first time in december, never skied before, dent have any lessons before i went which was a bit stupid.

    Spent a day on the nursery slopes learning to start stop and turn

    Then had possibly the best time of my life for 4 days was ace

    I really think trials sets you in good stead for learning stuff like snowboparding as your balance and co-oedination is really honed through trials and also the mysterious art of visualisation!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Errr?? I would make an appointment at the doctor and get his opinion if im honest, dont wanna scare you but i just would just to be on the safe side mate and as im not a doctor i would not feel right quoting and sort of views!

    I work out 3-4 times a weeka and have been doing for years and often burst the odd blood vessel in my eye lol particuarly when doing skull crushers but not that.

    My question is how well hydrated were you at the time and do you breath correctly when working out??

    Have you ever experinced dizziness before when working out??

  11. Give me a set of rocks any day to a bunch of walls, much more satisfying trying to get up an odd shaped rock when the run up is littered with roots, pebbles, small streams etc etc.

    Just so happens i live 5 miles away from a quarry that is/was reguarly used for moto-trials events

  12. For weight gainers i use Pro-mass its the best to help me bulk and it tastes fantastic.

    What sort of weight exercises can i do for my lower back? I've had problems with it before and I can't keep form when squatting or deadlifting.

    Lower the weight and do more reps with perfect form. Its the form not the weight that leads to gains.

    Also use a lifting belt!!! Especially when doin squats or deadlift!!

    Work your abdominals and obliques more as they act to stabilise the back just like a lifting belt.

    And most of all give yourself a few weeks off to make sure your back is fully recovered before starting again. You only get one!!!

    Hey Toby! Cant ride tommorow as i have work in the morning and got a party in the afternoon... Yippee!!

    But im on half term from college as of today for two weeks so im up for riding any day really but want to go down quarry mainly, i went down the other day, The rear louise brake aint to bad really did a few reasonable sized drops and it was ok but it does need a bleed, so could do with getting the correct sized bit to screw into the caliper and use a syringe to do it properly.

    You fancy a ride next week at all??

    What do people mean by gravity bleed? and how do they do it that way?

    A gravity bleed is where the brake is bled without the use of a syringe!

    Hope brakes are gravity bled its where you use a system of opening and closeing the bleed nipple on the caliper whilst pulling the brake lever, just look at any topic on bleeding hope brakes and it will explain in much greater detail.

    It is the same principle as bleeding the majority of car brakes. This is as oposed to using a syringe to force fluid through the system such as the case with most magura brakes.

  14. i ride in adio shoes there my normal shoes i dont think you really need to buy the proper trials shoes.

    Once you try some proper trials shoes you will realise how much better they are than regular shoes (in my opinion anyway)

    Over the years i used vans, DC's and various other trainers and they were never as good.

    The soles on any skate shoes quickly die and you end up with a pedal print on the bottom where your pedal has cut away at the sole, and trainers are just to flimsy for serious riding!!

    Try all are not overly expensive either i think i only paid £50 for mine.....Bargain

  15. I remember when i used to run magura's with evo mounts i had some metal bits that sat against the frame/fork instead of the usual very soft and spongy plastic lugs. Also a good quality brake booster should do the job.

    So long as they are set up correctly ( i mean pads square and bleed well etc) they should feel fine, people always used to comment on how good my brakes felt and i used evo mounts for a long time.

    But i will conceed that dedicated four bolt mounts are a much better way of mounting magura's.

  16. Hey i need to bleed my rear magura louise 01.

    Sorry if this has been asked before but i been searching for a previous post for about an hour and cant find one.

    I have 2 questions

    1. Can i gravity bleed a louise as i dont have a syringe to hand

    and 2. Can i use or is it wise to use either veggie oil or water in the system. Currently it has mineral oil in the system im just worrying that if i gravity bleed it there may be bits of mineral fluid left in the sytem mixed with water/veggie oil and lead to a rubbish feel.

    Anyone with any thoughts or experience is much appreciated!!

  17. Bust my big toe riding DH, Mashed it into a rock which promptly smashed me into a bigger one.. went completely black and blue and yes hurt like hell

    Remember i stubbed it a few days after on side of the sofa... Needless to say i dent do that again!!!

    So i feel for you dude hope it gets well soon!

    But as people have been saying there is pretty much nothing they will do for it so just take it steady for a feel weeks!!
