  1. thanks guys.

iv been away so havnt had the time to get the brake worn in yet. however i had a mate who ran the same thing on 26 and he didnt shut up about it. so figured it wouldnt hurt. but i will see

  2. I finally finished my Rockman. thanks to everyone who helped me get it together. Rideitall, Expressive bikes, Trialsden Trials Hive, City Bike Depot and Tarty.

    quick spec-

    Rockman Aurem III frame

    trialtech SL rims

    Avid Juicy 7 front disc

    Avid Code 5 rear disc

    Echo SL hubs, stem, headset

    V!Z bars

    Because cranks

This is the first I have run duel disc and havn't had much time to ride it but thus far feels awesome. I have new tires coming but couldnt wait any longer to ride it.

  3. It seems your not familar with using tar so someone best point out that it doesn't work well in the wet. By that i mean you might as well not use any brake pads at all.

spot on, im not familiar, no one uses it in australia...

this might be a dumb question, but is there a good way of getting it off if you know that it is going to be wet?

  4. Is there a "proper" technique to apply the tar?

I used to spin my wheels, and dab the tar on it while it's spinning - a fast way of applying.

Sometimes I also draw lines (diagonal) on the rims with the tar, about 2cm gap.

cool, yea well i just rolled what i got into a ball and let it go hardish, then just basically rubbed it on, it seems like hardly any is going on but WOW did it improve the braking. Why did I not do this befor!! its bloody awsome (Y)(Y)

    cheers

  5. yeah i find it realy hard to pedal hop with bent arms!! i dont know if its my bar/stem setup or whether i just am doing it wrong??? any thoughts???

try bending your knees a bit more and get the bike more vertical (hence forcing your elbows to bend), might feel awkward at first but it will definately help in the long run (Y)

also it could be that the specs of you bike make it a bit difficult... im not sure, but give it a go

    GOOD LUCK!
