DOT fluid is only for hope brakes. Magura discs use mineral oil.
I bled the disc on my mod with water years ago and it was fine. At one point I even used a HS 33 lever and it still worked fine the lever just felt stiff.
I can't remember exactly how I did it but I'm pretty sure I used a syringe and bled from the caliper up to the lever.
Its not the best idea to use water with a disc brake but it does work. I didn't notice the water getting hot, expanding or boiling when I did it so I think you'll be alright for trials.
Don't forget that you'll have no warranty if you do it though.
thanks for the infomation lads, im goin for it lol.

you can. but it might not work
it wont wrek the seals though will it?
-
You don't have to bleed disk brakes with water.
i knw but i want to thou. can u do it
-
i need to bleed my magura front disk with water, is it kind of the same way you would do hs33.
please help. thanks

whats the worst that can go wrong with it.

do NOOOT stretch the spirngs.
the way kings work they are best in a well oiled lubricated environment so keep it that way.
so what if its not realy loud, does it still work well?
the longer term cost of not keeping it lubricated or stretching the springs meen things will wear out faster and C/King spares are SILLY expensive!
thanks mate
-
Take it apart, clean it all out, put in some tri-flow light lube, put it back together.
some one said somthing about streching the springs
-
All my mates have told me to make my king louder, but how do i do it. thanks rob

For one you could try and use words and grammar rather than text talk. Then you should go about reading the guidelines!
ok thank you very much

You can convert it, 'cos i swapped hubshells +internals with Jon Mack a few months back, all we did was swap the axles and driveshells over from one hub to the other. Then again, they were iso's...
Phone Tarty, they'll tell you the score.
And even if you can change it, you'll probably need to re-builf the wheel 'cos it'll probably be dished wrong.
thanks mate hope this will work lol because if it doesnt ive lost 300 pound. thanks for your help
-
Well if it's already laced up, you'll need to go for the axle/driveshell option.
Phone Tarty and say what you're planning to do, they'll tell you how much it'll all cost
What hub is it?
chris king non disk rear hub 32 hole but it has a 135 mm axel and the chap i got it of sed u carnt get 1 to fit a zoo python.
-
You'll need a CK BMX hub to fir a 20" frame!
If you've already got a 135mm hub, you could either sell it/ send it back and replace it with a BMX hub, or you could change the driveshell and hub axle to a BMX one, then it'll work
hi and thanls i carnt send it back because it has been lased up, how much would all that cost. thanks
-
does any 1 know of a chris king hub toi fit a zoo python 20" frame. i had 1 for christmas but it is 135mm axel do you know any way around fitting it to my bike. thanks

18:12 is a 1.5:1 gear ratio.
The smallest 5 bolt sprocket for the middleburn pro trials bash is 20t, a 14t rear sprocket will give you 1.42:1 ratio.
The normal middleburn chainring is 22t, in which case a 15t sprocket will give you 1.46:1 ratio.
Both of which are slightly lighter than 18:12 gearing
what would you get,
because i have only just started trials n dont know what to get.
thanks
-
the only problem is that i dont have a front free wheel cuz i have a pro middle burn trials crank
and it has 5 bolt holes on my chain ring so wats the smallest i can go.
thanks
-
woul 24/16 be any good
-
what about if my rear sprocket was 16 what would my front sprocket be thanks
-
